Dear ZOS Team and ESO Community,
I like to make some suggestions for the game which might solve a Problem about Equipment drops and Traits.
Right now just Items from the Open World can be traded and sold to other Players while Equipment pieces from Dungeons, Raids and Maelstrom Arena are bound on Pickup.
The easiest Solution would be making all Equipment pieces bound on equip.
This way people could just farm gold and buy missing pieces.
I wouldnt be against this since I think good equipments alone wouldnt make a good player.
But this is not my suggestion here.
My Idea is to reroll the system a bit.
Doing so you would find clear Equipment pieces without any traits from enemies.
You would be able to apply a trait to a Piece of Equipment (only on clear ones).
In order to do so you would need the respective Trait item plus a special item to process the piece of Equipment.
Those special items shouldnt be easy to get (maybe low dropchances from overland enemies, from the hireling, crafting writs or craftable with a recipe).
Those items should also be tradable, so there is a demand on the market actually.
There should also be some restrictions about applying a trait to a piece of Equipment.
First: You cant apply a Trait to a piece of Equipment which has a Trait already
Second: Items with a Trait applied on cant be refined anymore
Third: Trait enchant Chances based on Items Quality (equipment breaks if failed)
- white 100%
- green 80%
- blue 60%
- purple 40%
- gold 20%
Why this?
Lets say youre aiming for a sword (sharpened) from a certain set.
You kill the boss of a dungeon and get clear weapons/equipment pieces only.
This means the chances are pretty high to get the piece you looking for.
But now the actual job starts.
You actually not wanna use a white quality sharpened sword or something.
So you gotta hunt multiple of those swords to raise your chances to get the one you want with a higher quality.
So you need a couple swords, plus a couple refining items plus a couple of those special process itmes to get a golden Sharpened Sword.
It still takes time, probably some gold and luck but the goal seems more achievable (at least to me)
Also if you struggle to get your hand on enough of the required items you can start running with a lower quality Sharpened Sword, its something people have to measure beforehand wether it makes sense or not.
My other suggestion would be a new Dungeon mode which could also have some impact on Item drops.
A new way more difficult Mode would be added to every dungeon, called Nightmare Mode (or whatever you think is more fitting).
This Nightmare Mode can just be accessed by people who cleared the Hard Mode of the respective veteran dungeon before.
Also this mode can be a universal one which can simply be added to every existing dungeon.
In general the Nightmare Mode should be signicantly more harder than its respective veteran Version but it should also be more rewarding for those who can clear it.
My idea is to add some features.
- Red screen for the whole party (like the grey and blue screen you get in White Gold Tower and Ruins of Mazzatun) as long as they proceed through the dungeon
this should make it a little harder for partymembers to see the AOE Telegraphs and also add some "Nightmare Atmosphere"
people should know certain enemies plus their movement and combat patterns from the veteran versions already
- whole group gets a debuff if someone in the group dies
this debuff either drains Health, Stamina or Magicka (random), lasts for 1 Minute and cant be cleansed
so people have to proceed very carefully
if another person dies while a debuff is already running a new debuff will be applied, so if you had the Health drain (which last for 30 more seconds) and get the Magicka drain now, both debuffs can run at the same time then. If its the same debuff the duration will just be refreshed
-add more enemies to the dungeon for each mobpack
-all enemies have increased detection, so it should be harder to just sneak through
-Another option for the dungeon could be a time or a wipe limit
So if a certain time is exceeded or a certain wipe limit the group gets removed from the dungeon
Now I add 3 optional Changes for the Nightmare Version:
1) Enemies are significantly Stronger than Veteran Version (in terms of Health, Attack, Resistance and such)
2) Enemies in the whole Dungeon get stronger with every victim from the group
3) Enemies get stronger the more time elapses while progress through the Dungeon
Maybe those options can be combined
Also there could be changes on the Bosses (Bosses have Hard Mode activated)
-Bosses get a new Skill (Doom or whatever) which is either casted on a random person or on the whole group. Players affected by this skill are cursed and cant be ressurected if they die and still have the curse applied (duration of the curse could be 2 minutes and cant be cleansed) (Only for Last Boss of Each Dungeon)
-Boss heals for 10% of max Health (last Boss heals for 20%) for each defeated player and get a random Buff (increased attack/resistance for 20 seconds or Damage Shield) (every Boss)
Loot from Nightmare Dungeons
Like i said, the Nightmare Version should be more rewarding so I was thinking about two options here:
First the Treasure Vault solution.
This means you get a Key from every boss in the dungeon and after you defeated the last Boss a Treasure Vault will open.
There you can pick between 4 Chests, Weapon/Shield Chest, Equipment Chest, Accessory Chest and Gold Chest.
So in addition to the loot you already got from all Bosses you have another chance to get items from the chests just like the undaunted chests. Maybe it could be possible to add golden jewelry to those chests by low chance. If you dont need any equips you could open the gold chests and take some moderate amounts of gold instead, the amount you get could vary from 5000~20000 or any other amount you think is suitable.
Also, you cant collect the keys. If you clear the dungeon you have to use the keys at the end, otherwise they will disappear when you leave the dungeon. This way you cant collect keys up and use them on other Treasure vaults.
The Second idea is to pick from a selection of items
This means, after each Bosskill you can pick 1 out of 3 Equipment pieces when you loot. Pretty simple.
Monster Helmet drops would not be affected by this.
The idea is to add a super challenging new dungeon mode to the already existing dungeons which can probably only be mastered by really skilled players.
Those who can clear it have higher chances to get their hand on wanted items.
Maybe a Leaderboard can be added for Nightmare Modes.
Some of my suggestions can be modified, or details could be added.
I dont know if this is something that you might want to see ingame but I like the concept.
