You can choose the mounts to fit your characters, you know... I only play Khajiit, and most of my characters ride a senche or a lion (2 of them ride a guar, because it fits their backstory better).

There are bears, camels, horses, guars, senche and now even a dwemer spider for you to choose from; no need to impose a mount linked to a race.

It would be nice if the mount you chose had different saddles and accessories depending on race though. Razum-Dar said he'd like to have a saddle that won't pinch the tail ;)

I bet he is happy with the Dwemer Spider then as the tail seems to hang loosely :P

    This one noticed it too.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

They exist but not by race just by crown store introduction. Seems mounts are Faction and zone based so are you suggesting something non TES like a new type of mount?

Could my Dunmer ride on an Argonian or Khajiit?

There are no "racial mounts", but there arer racial mounts.
I mean, no "must be dunmer to ride" mounts, but guar that dunmer might ride, there are no "must be redguard to ride" mounts, but camels that redguard might ride, there are no "must be kjhajiit to ride" mounts, but senche to ride for khajiit (or anyone else who buys them in those lands for that matter), etc.
    As it should be.

Of course, if they werenät all crown sture things, it would have been way more nifty to buy those mounts in those regions, but alas... (wish they would do it regardless, for example have stables in alik'r, southern bangkorai and hew's bane sell camels for crowns, but... they don't sadly)

I suppose, it would make sense to offer up some of the base line, crown store mounts in specific regions for gold. One of the basic guar in the Morrowind provinces for 250k or so. One of the Camels in the Alik'r. One of the bears in Skyrim. A dire wolf on the Gold Coast.

I mean, the best option would be new mounts, for gold, that matched their region. Specifically a senche, guar, dire wolf, camel and bear, with individual zones having ones that are appropriate to them.

Before housing, I would have said there was no way they'd stick any crown store mounts in game for gold. Now? I'm not so sure. It's unlikely, but not impossible.

    Racial mounts? Let's see.
    • Saxhleel - Wamasu
    • Dunmer - Guar
    • Nord - Horses/Wolves
    • Altmer - Breton
    • Khajiit - Senche
    • Bosmer - Skeletal beings, since they don't need plants to survive, nor they need flesh of animals eating plants.
    • Orsimer -Bears/Wolves
    • Redguard - Camels/Horses
    • Breton - Orsimers and Bretons dragging cart
    • Imperial - Horses

@Enslaved, remember at least one of the Bears specifically mentioned being a favorite mount for Nord Nightblades. Which, you know, is pretty funny as a concept in general, but still.

Also, Bosmer might be fans of any predatory mount they can get their hands on. You know, Kagouti, Senche, Bears, Wolves, ect.

I want a (flightless obviously) gryphon with an eagle head for my Altmer. For no reason other than because of the eagle motif. Yes there is at least talk of gryphons in TES, they are a thing.

Also a boar for my Bosmer. I'm sure I read somewhere they could ride boars. It's been a while, but I'm not crazy.

That's all. I'm happy with my Argonian and my Dunmer riding guar, my Nord riding her Ice Wolf, my Khajiit riding a Senche and my other characters riding horses.

Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Stupid question, but are we sure Griffins are actually a thing? I know they're a recurring mythical motif, but I'm not aware of anyone saying they'd actually seen or interacted with one. Just that they chose to name their bar after them.

Nope, not sure, they absolutely can be just a Tamrielic myth. There is an ingredient (I think in Daggerfall?) called "Gryphon Feather" or something like that, but that can absolutely be just a name people gave to the ingredient (like how imp stools are not actually stools used by imps, as far as I know :P).

But! Having a reference made to them allows ZOS to introduce them in the way they introduced Dire Wolves: In an area not previously available, with a lore book about taming them. And there is always the excuse of "they were killed off in the following centuries".

I'm thinking Summerset. The main island is so closed to outsiders that things that live there could very well be seen as myths by the rest of Tamriel.

Yes, I would like my mount to be an Argonian. That is the only mount I would consider spending money on apart from a Big Wheel.

Real senche and senche-raht can be a cousin, a sibling, or even a partner. Khajiit have many forms even if we only play one of their body types. I personally see the "mob type" senche in the same type as Khajiiti bandits or feral bosmer (intelligent beings who want to kill me, not basic wildlife).

Same is with redguards and camels. You literally cannot distinguish who is the rider in that equation.

Like, you want to ride around on the back of a Nord as if someone lost a bar bet?
