I heard they suck as stam dps and suck even more as magika dps, templar healers are still better and DK tanks are still better.

I went Argonian so I can be magika or stamina, but I need advice an what best role that suits Wardens now?

cleared all of vvardenfall and all of the ebonheart line with this

    40magic 24 stamina
    full crit eg hundings etc

    dual wield
    whirling blades
    blade cloak
    arctic blast
    growing swarm
    leeching vines

    bow
    acid spray or poison
    endless hail
    bull netch
    crystallized slab
    enchanted growth

haters gonna hate but it works and doesnt rely on 5 weapon skills per bar
the class needs a serious buff before anything real will become of it
atm imo its a hybrid class like it or not, probably why they put in hybrid set with it
as for groups go full heals, wardens make good healers

Depend of what do you want to do.

Templars are a little better as healers, but not so much. My warden has already healed vDSA and some raids (including vets) with ease, I absolutely don't miss BoL when I have my mushrooms. The only thing I may miss is purifying ritual, but I totally love vampiric vines and northern storm. Even more, I have far more resources managements with my warden than with my templar, and I apply toughness most of the time (nearly 100% on tanks) without needing warhorn.

As a tank, I feel very good also. I apply toughness to everyone, heal 1K/sec everyone, I have no stamina problem, I have a grap slower than DK one but still useful, I can tp back my allies when they need, I apply major ward/resolve to everyone, I have more warhorn than my ultimate builded DK when an enemy use projectile, I can heal all my group to full health for 75 ultimates (which are really fast to restore, nearly perma-tree when an enemy use projectiles) and permafrost is definitively a killer in some situation.

As a stamden, I can do a good dps (yes, perhaps a little lower than DK/NB, but still good) with good survivability, very good resource management and a huge burst when needed (hello maelstrom). Even more, I apply major breach/fracture to every trash mob.

As a magden… since I don't feel really ice based, I don't play one. I prefer my healer.

Just level it and try different builds/styles to see what fits. You can't always go by what people say, especially when the class is still new. So far I love my magicka Warden and I am taking my time leveling it so I can learn the class, abilities and try different builds... it's fun.

I started levelling up a magica one and it's very meh. No idea if I want other level destro and go dd or level s&b and go tank. It's pretty uninspiring.

Think I'll level a Stam one first, but just looking at skills and passives, it still seems meh. Great burst in PvP by the looks of it, but bad sustain and suvivability.

They might suck, but my magicka warden is my new main. Druid is simply my favourite RPG archetype. And it's a pretty fun class to play.

Hopefully ZOS gives them some love and doesn't leave them to rot like they did NB (although I'd be happy if warden was buffed to be as good as NB, because right now even NB DPS blows them away ).

Having said that, I'm having no problems completing vet dungeons with my magward. DPS is on the low end, but still higher than what most PUGs pull (I usually end up with ~60% of team DPS). That's more a function of dungeons being really easy though (and PUGs being really bad). They're fine for normal trials too, although I wouldn't take them into vet (the low DPS would just be too big of a burden on your team).

If you always go for best meta there are only 3 ways to play. Best DPS, TANK, HEALER. and therefore you chain your self very much.
Try something new you have never done. Make a Hybrid build, or find a build you find fun and different.

Weren't people up in arms about warden being OP just a month ago? What the hell is going on. Is there a crusade to put down ESO as much as possible by players who doesn't even play the game? I don't get it.

It doesnt have to be the best but it has to not be so bad, from what I hear warden dps are so bad.

As above, I've enjoyed exploring the skills and abilities of the Magicka Warden too. The intention was to try and create a viable healer and dish out some damage too. I'm trying a variety of sets, finding out the min-max builds I've grown used to creating are not going to work, no matter what kind of food I use! it's interesting and challenging to have to take into account, attributes, enchants, food, and a plethora of other things in order to maintain sustain and viability. My concern is how to help a stamina user(s) in the group. I'm familiar with Templar healing and the appreciation of the tank and stamina users by casting repentance and shards.

I may have misread or missed a tool tip, but, I don't see anything in the warden tool bag that could help with stamina return, I see magicka, and health sure. Is there something a Stamina warden could use to help provide all three elements, health, magicka and stamina?

Or is it a case of just make sure there is a Templar in the group?

DPS was also a big concern, but I'm working on it. As OP's have written already, it's just still very early days.

After all the complaining now about warden being "eh" and not the best at anything I'm sure next "balance patch" they will over buff them.

This reminds me of my favorite line from an NPC, "The biggest liar in all of Tamriel is, 'they say'." It's VERY true. The problem with listening to other people is A) people are still trying to figure out the Warden class itself and what skills work best together, and B) they're used to other classes and are expecting the same results with a class they're completely unfamiliar with. What was on PTS was a bit different than at launch, and many PTS players have not adjusted their loadouts or tried different things... they simply stick with what they were used to on PTS. I've seen some comments of players doing great numbers with Magicka Wardens, so what is it that they're doing that the rest cannot figure out. My thoughts, players are trying to play Wardens like Sorcs or Templars and are not trying to play it like a WARDEN, which in my experience the entire playstyle is very different.

The things is Wardens are the only class who have a specific tree each for tanking, healing and dps giving less options in each respectively, in order to buff dps they need to overbuff animal companions since it is their only dps option

Okay,in hope u get 1 shoted by them, here is the op stuff:

    Use 5x Viper (3x jewelry + SNB)
    2x tremor/veli
    5x whatever.

    Combo EVERY 4 *** seconds:

Sub assault, dive , shield charge (stunned, so sub assault 100% hits), la, ransack, bash (+Viper and tremor/veli).

This is the highest burst of all stam classes, even without ulti lol.

Ah people with their never happy syndrome... before Early-Acess, forum was being overloaded with people crying the Warden would be an OP character, all a $$$$ marketing strategy from ZoS.... now, you get most crying Warden is pointless...

If you only play a toon for the numbers and being on top of everything and not playing to have fun, you forgot what game was about, play for fun, or you simply haven't tried it yourself to compare it with the other classes.. have fun and enjoy. Warden is only a different game style, as healer, think before *** happens, since you don't have fast healing as templar'S, templar are, fix problem, warden, prevent problems, which for me is giving me some challenge as healer and i love it. As for tank from what my friend told me, his only main skill he really misses from his DK (we are not hidding it here, Warden tank skills remind a lot the DK) it's the chain, since TP is a bit slower and less precise, but he simply changed his approach to gather mobs. as for DPS, maybe Warden's first goal wasn't to beat up Sorcs DPS or any top chart DPS, but it's still fun to play...

Remember you have plenty of class to play if a clas is weak in a specific role. Wheni wanna do pure dmg and numbers, i hop on my Sorc, if i wanna do a bit less but help on healing as i DPS, it's my NB, when i wanna tank, it's my DK, when i wanna heal, it's my Templar or Warden, both pure healers, but each can be adapated to DPS.

As for Mag Warden DPS, it might not be that bad, with 5x SPC+ 5x Worm cult gear setup, healer setup gear that is, only 1x monster set, so no 2 pieces bonus from it, 100 pts in Blessing and 100 pts in elfborn, no CPS at all in any CP to help DPS, besides Elfborn that could help, i do 15-16k single target when i put all DPS skill setup on... so i presume with DPS gear on and proper CP distribution it wouldn't be that bad.

I'm playing a class that can chuck a ton of ice spells with destro staff stuff to aoe like nothing before, all the while having a big, mean bear at my side AND have a secondary bar of a wide assortment of good heals.

I don't give a crap about what eventual min/max sims are going to say... right now i'm loving my mag warden.

And then if i decide i'd rather go stam later on? They have a ton of stam morphs and apparently a crapton of burst. So i have the option of going full on sword swinging druid style and look good doing it.

Short version: i'm having fun with my warden. I'm sorry you guys aren't :(
