Not just console users. There were PC users that got hung up on that splash screen as well. I never saw it but assume the continue prompt is not very large.

As other's have stated, you can bypass that screen. If in doubt post a screenshot and we will let you know what to press.

Here's the thing about that splash screen,
the options presented are

X to Continue
O to Quit

Pressing X to continue will state that Morrowind isn't purchased and cannot continue. That leaves you with O to quit, which could be interpreted to mean close the game so they avoid it cause they don't want to quit the game. In reality, the quit option is to quit the splash screen and continue playing Vanilla ESO.

It's awkwardly presented which can lead to confusion, much like OP seems to have experienced.

Purchasing morrowind is an accessory like any other expansion and will be prized when played. ESO+ adds a lot of bling to the account as well. I'm not understanding what the meaning of this thread was purposed for. Is your "PLAY" button not working?

It would be nice if before ranting, people figure out if what they want to rant about really is a thing.

I preordered Morrowind after May 22 when GMG had an additional discount and I just couldn't resist. When I loaded the sans-Morrowind ESO around May 23, I had another game running minimized. As I ran around DC zones, I heard annoying music and was ready to rant on forum about ESO shoving crap Morrowind music down out throats. Before posting, I checked settings for the ability to control which music played. Nothing. Then, I noticed another game running and figured out it was the source of the crappy music.

Turns out, Morrowind music is actually great, like base game music.

Then again, I actually fact check Facebook posts before liking.

Hey genius ever thought about this, what if nobody is playing vanilla because they're playing morrowind?

ESO is an MMO, with the new expansion the MMO part of the game has went over to morrowind. Trying to do your pledges? Nope. Want to zerg train? Nope.

It's really styled like an in your face thing where it -really- pushes you to buy the damn thing or get out.
