Bitting Jabs - how come it procs both Skoria and Selene set?

So I've just tested it out and it procs both Selene and Skoria sets

Selene says - when dealing direct melee damage 15% to proc the bear
Skoria - when dealing damage over time 8% to proc the meteor

So what kind of damage is Bitting Jabs, dot or direct melee?
That being said, which CP I should upgrade if I want higher damage from Bitting Jabs?
Thaumaturge or Master-at-arms?

The first impact is direct damage. The second and so on is considered as damage over time.

Burning light, that passive in the aedric spear line, does direct damage. Jabs procs it the most often

Nice-to-know: Every damage and healing ability in the game is direct damage at its first proc. If it procs more as one time like mutagen, cinder storm or barrier it counts as dot as well.

The ONLY ability that doesn't have direct damage should and I think is curse and its morphs. Its only damage over time, because its 'delayed damage'.

Selene does proc from jabs itself, and not only from the first hit.
    edit: Master-at-arms doesn't affect jabs.

It does (at least in the PTS), Jabs are not a DoT jabs are a channeling direct damage skill, even Radiant is a direct damage skill, a DoT will be poisons, poison injection poison over time, twin slash bleeding, ect...

If Jabs are not DoT then how can they proc Valkyn Skoria set?

I have no idea, but in paper they are not a DoT, I guess they didn't know what to do with that skill and they made Jabs be both DoT and DD skill while also being a channeling, while it make sense for it to be DD and a Channeling skill it doesn't really make sense that Jabs are also a DoT, a real DoT that requires you to channel is Flurry, that's how Jabs should have been (I guess)

In this game, Channels are considered to be under the DoT category. Almost like a sub-category. All channels that cause damage spread throughout the channel will proc any set that say "DoT".

It used to affect jabs in the PTS, but they changed it. On the other hand, Thaumaturge DOES affect it.

Is it procing from jabs or the burning light passive damage that can proc from using jabs? It's probably the later.
