I only bought morrowind to play the story then I'll probably quit again. Anyone in PTS got any idea how long the story is?

Morrowind has been released for PC for 2 weeks now. I haven't done it myself, but the devs say that it has about 30 hours of gameplay (quests).

Lol what? I just started updating my game. I remember seeing it say 6/6/2017 but steam is saying may 22nd.

Is it on public server right now? I literally pre-ordered it a day before release like I always do.

There really is a lot more running around in Morrowind than there has been in the past, huh?

A lot of go here, now go there, now go back to that other place, now back to where you started...

Kinda makes me miss the old zones where every location you went to had one guy handing out a quest for that location and that was it. Yeah, the quests in Morrowind feel more like "quests" and less like "tasks" but still a lot of time spent travelling.

Just like any content, if you click through all the dialogs you can plow through it pretty fast. Then if you complain about it after you do that, direct your complaints at the mirror.

If you play the content, listen to the dialogs and your not in an all fired rush to get it all done, you can spend more than 30 hours. I rolled a character into Morrowind and when I had finished the Main Quest and all the World Bosses and Delves, and most but not all the Town Quests I was at 32 hours. I did not do all that much puttering either. Figure 35 to complete the zone. Add some more time, 10 to 20 hours, for the Sermons and Shrines if you want to tour those and not use an addon or map.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

There was a two-week early access period for pre-orders on PC. If you waited until the day before release, to pre-order you missed the whole early access.

Good thing they let you guys fix the bugs before I got in there. I see a thread about battlegrounds being glitched, I'm sure this all saved me a few walls of text to post on here.

I dunno, to me three days of entertainment is pretty solid value out of $40, since I could blow the same amount of money on dinner and a movie. Unto each his own I guess.

It took me like 35 hs to do most quests and explore the map. Granted, I didn't skip the dialogues and took my time to enjoy the gorgeous scenery. Actually I don't think I completed all quests yet. They were superb by the way, if you are interested in questing and lore you are in for a treat. :)

Actually incorrect. I pre-ordered the night before may22, and got early access. They just didn't do a good job notifying people that they can play Morrowind.

Kinda depends on your play style.

The artwork, environments and dialogue are rather detailed and Vvardenfell feels a lot more like the singleplayer TES games compared to other zones. If you approach the quests the same as Skyrim, Morrowind, Oblivion (in other words, wandering around and exploring the world, doing quests in random order, getting sidetracked as you encounter some interesting NPC rather than following some linear sequence), it can take a long time. For me first 10-15 hours was just scratching the surface and I didn't even get a chance to start the main quest yet.

If you approach this area more like questing in other MMOs, quickly doing quests in specific order, it will be much faster.

Only problem with the first approach is that you will find some areas that are locked off, or NPCs that don't talk to you because you didn't do some other quest X, Y or Z. I think it would be a great improvement for players who take this kind of explorer approach if alternate quest givers were added to some of these locations.

I finally got around to getting in game, however I'm getting some bad UI issues.

Without any addons on, I was unable to turn the chat to Char names instead of @Account. I know which option it is, and it was turned off by default but kept shwoing account names. Plus when I turned my addons on there is so much crap I gotta do.

Wish I didn't have to program the game just to play it.

I've got a little over 10 hours played on my initial warden who hasn't done anything anywhere else and has only covered (but not completed) the very bottom section of the map. She's done one delve and one world boss, plus a handful of mainly side quests, together with a bit of crafting and fishing along with general exploration. I very much doubt if she'll complete the whole content in less than 60 hours at a minimum, probably more, and then a couple of other new wardens will be made and all my other characters will visit Vvardenfell - and I'll buy a couple of houses to round things off. Plenty of value there. It's all down to how you approach the game.

I personally found the quests were painfully long in most cases, like WAY too long. I think they did it to draw out the time to make it seem like there's more hours of questing than there actually is.

They're spread out also which drags out the time. So pure questing time I doubt there's more than 15 hours max of pure questing.

I played 3-4 hours a night every night for the first week of early access. roughly 20 hours over each weekend (i know I know)

maybe 6 hours was battlegrounds, the rest was working on Vvardenfell quests and Achievements. I'm done with the main story line quests but I still have some odds and ends and 2 whole dungeons (one public, one trial) to get through, not to mention achievements.

2 - 100 depending on how you play the game...

If you play it like an MMO where you are rushing to the finish line of which none exists, then 2 hours..

If you play it like an RPG and explore and read books and letters, listen to dialogue etc. then you can stretch it to 100 hours of Morrowindy goodness.

Hmm... I got an email like three days before early access started.

That said... If you waited to purchase until the day before it was -released-, like the person I quoted said (ie: today) then you missed (almost) all of the early access which happened before that.

Right I mean 30x (1 hour long) quests is just a trick over 90x (20 minute long) quests...

...What? Its a dialogue and new Encounters ratio, not a quests per hour kinda thing

How in the world is a long quest any different? It's not like different quests sent you to the same spot to do different things, if 1 person in every town needs "Dweamer McGuffin" from Nchuleftingth, then it would be stretched out.

Even when they have to go back and forth, that's kind of the point of unlocking the wayshrines when you first get to the area.
