this topic is interesting for me because i had to collect recently gold for my own house (a guild house to be specific, that i am hoping to soon make fully functional for my friends to enjoy). i bought it yesterday in fact. I did have help from my friends, they were really nice, but i chose not to munch off of them and take advantage of their generosity. I laboured through writs and sold all my inventory. But seriously, earning gold in this game is quite easy. (I earned around 5 millions gold in 2 weeks).
Here some advices :
Farm mats, refine and sell them, (dreugh wax, tempering alloy)
Farm popular sets and weapons, like necropotence and spriggan for example.
Complete morrowind daily for news motifs, you can sell each chapter around 20 / 25k gold.
Sell plants from alchemy, actually they're expensive and sell really fast.
