Went for 8 different ones just to have a spread but confess that has a weakness for all the Kitty type so main is Khajitt and so will any additional ones (feels sorry for the 2 that did not make the cut but thinks they will forgive him one day)

Orcs.

Like the culture of survival of the fittest, I like the whole thing about them being outcasts and pariahs from societies yet remain an incredibly strong people. I also like how they look, a brutal and majestic look. A no nonsense people.
Warlike and aggressive yet having a savage nobility with the code of Malacath.

My favourite piece of lore is that it took the combined might of the Bretons and Redguards a whole 3 decades of constant siege warfare to destroy the one city the Orcs had, and even then the Orcs thrive.

I pick the best race to maximise potential for my stam/mag builds for PvE/PvP tbh.

- They have be sexy (so no cat people/lizard people)

- They have to have good passives (endgame is important to me)

I recently decided to make my Mag Warden a Breton based mostly on playing a few games as Jaina in HoTS.

I like argonion, I play as argonion.

I usually choose based on concept, or looks. I have an overweight Orc Vampire sorcerer who was make purely based on looks, she turned out as horrific, but maybe once she was beautiful, as I'd hoped.

I also have a Khajiit sorc that was made as I wanted a ranger (orc would have been ideal, but not furry). Bow, port, mines cc, good all-rounder. I saw someone in nice spiky armour, and though "I can has kittah in that".

I don't min/max, I go for fun but effective.

For me it's usually mainly aesthetic. Although I don't role-play often I do like my characters to have a backstory and personality and to feel like fully fledged characters rather than an avatar of me...if that makes any sense.

I usually take my starting point - my reason for creating a new character - and then match everything else to it.

For example my main is a khajiit templar because she's the latest incarnation of the character I play in every TES game. She's a khajiit because I found them more original than humans, elves or orcs (Argonians are cool too, but khajiit fit my play style better) and she's a templar because their skills are the closest to the Destruction and Restoration magic she normally uses (along with (short)blade and light/medium armour).

My crafter is an Imperial because then I didn't need to find/buy that motif. My warden is a breton because she's another re-creation of a character from other games who is usually a half-elf. My sorcerer is a dark elf because magic is intrinsic to their culture and the dunmer appealed to me more than the altmer. My evil character is a bosmer because I thought it'd be more interesting to role-play an evil character if they're from a culture which already has very different views on morality to the rest of the world. I also have an argonian but in that case the race was my starting point - I wanted to play an argonian, so I matched everything else to how I wanted to play one.

That's it right there for me. I have absolutely zero interest in game "lore" whatsoever.

As an admitted altoholic, I like to sample 'em all for cultural, lore, and rp reasons.
