I was trying to theorycraft the most effective amount of elemental power on a single build- and here's what I've come up with:
Race: Dunmer (7% extra damage from fire, 2% from shock, 2% from frost)
Class: Warden (6% extra frost and magic damage)
Gear: 5 Elemental Succession, 5 Netch's Touch, 1 Maelstrom lightning staff
So, here's the thing: you get 7% bonus to fire, 8% bonus to frost, and 2% + 400 spell damage bonus to your lighting staff abilities. PLUS- you get a rotating 515 extra spell damage from Elemental Succession.
If you use this bar's setup- you should get relatively high regen:
- Bird of Prey, Force Pulse, Inner Light, Blue Netch, Winter's Revenge Ultimate: Shooting Star
7 pieces of light armor gives you 28% magicka recovery, 14% reduced magicka costs, 2541 spell resistance, 2191 spell crit (plus Inner light's spell crit), 4884 spell penetration
2 Mage's Guild skills slotted gives you another 4% magicka recovery and 2% max magicka
2 Animal Companion skills slotted gives you another 12% magicka and stamina recovery and 4% extra damage done... on top of the 8% extra damage from Bird of Prey
44% magicka recovery seems pretty good. You could supplement it more if you added magicka recovery enchants to your jewelry
Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with the gear setup? Would it hit like a beast and still have good recovery?
Note: Edited to show "shooting star" vs "ice comet" for the full trifecta of elemental effects
