Statue Base, Square not placing properly

My husband and I both purchased the Statue Base, Square from the Luxury Vendor this weekend (June 2nd). While I'm sure they make nice statue bases, we saw the potential to make walls with them and bought quite a few. I'm able to go to any of my homes and rotate the pitch of the furnishing to 90 degrees and place it just fine. On the other hand, when my husband does the same in his own home, the furnishing seems to rotate randomly on first placement. If he then picks up the object again and places a second time(not moving the cursor at all), it'll land in its intended position without rotating. In short, this means he has to place, pick up, place again every time he puts a 'wall' up. This seems to only happen if it's off its axis (not laying flat).

We tested this in our of all our homes across both of our accounts. The error only occurs in my husband's homes. We have tried to place it with surface drag on and off and we have disabled all of our addons and it still happens so it seems to be linked to his account somehow. Has anyone else had this issue?

Not only that, but I made a balcony out of the bases but can't place any crafting stations on it. The stations initially works, but when I log out and come back in I can't interact with my crafting stations. The statue base does not act as a base at all. So disappointed. Now I have to return to those ugly wood planks or orcish stages. Ugh.

So weird. It'd be one thing if it didn't work at all but to work for a short time then not work at all is bizarre.

Update to this is that my husband came into my home to try and build a wall with the item and it's bugged out on him again. I can still place them fine though, so it's definitely a weird glitch linked to his character >.<

Edit: I'm now encountering the bug as well.We found that reloading into the home also sets the collision to the item's first placement rather than how it appears on screen. By using the Homestead OCD mod, we found that this only happens when the item's pitch is exactly at 90.
We're bypassing the glitch by setting the pitch at 89.9. Not a fix but probably the best we can do for now.
