Which role is least forgiving with a non-optimal (min/max) racial choice?

For PvE, I would say either Stam or mag DPS.

DPS is the only role that has a clear requirement that requires proof (x amount of dps) for many trial groups, so having a sub-optimal race combination directly affects that.

With the right gear and skills, people will largely not notice if the healer is a Bosmer or if the tank is an Altmer, as long as they are performing their jobs properly.

Tank

I read the question wrong , tanking can be done with every race easily .

Stam DPS can be done with Imperial , Redguard , Orc , Bosmer , Dunmer , Khajit so you see lots of options .

Healer can also be done with any race as well but less forgiving compared to tanking .

My answer would be Magicka DPS . You have only 2 options . Dark Elf or High Elf and that's pretty much it .

There was no need to separate stamina and magicka dps, in this case, anyway dps is the least forgiving with bad racial passives i think.

I vote stam because I feel like some stamina racials might be a litle beneficial for magica while none of the mag ones are for stamina (but the difference is so small it doesn't matter)

I appreciate your insight, but for somebody who wants to make only one character for a given class, yet still have multiple play styles / roles available to them, it certainly is helpful to make this distinction.

Stam DPS

Stamina DPS by far.

Having more stamina/stamina regen is crucial for Stamina builds as all our survivability comes from stamina alone.
Vigor, Dodge, Block, etc all require stamina and more stamina/regen means stronger Vigors, more chances to dodge and block. etc. all while still being able to attack. Some classes can get away with it (Dragon's Blood, BoL,etc.) but it's still harder.

Magic DPS is more lenient as, while shields/heals/etc are better on Magic Races, the extra stamina benefits can still be used for more dodging, break frees, blocking.etc. so it isn't entirely useless either.

Tanking or Healing can be done by everyone, regardless of Race.

While I agree with you, that would be the most forgiving role. For the least forgiving, I'd really say magic DPS.

While Magic inclined race works alright for Stam, it didn't work so well for me speccing an Orc as a magic nightblade.

I have a kitty and a lizard healers. I don't noticed a big difference between them -- or, at least, I never thought my kitty had problems to heal.

So if I make a bosmer healer warden over a breton or an argonian its not gunna be the end of the world..?.?

I've always dreamed of a nature magic wielding spinner type druid healer. But I also wanna heal vet dungeons and trials.

I can pretty much guarantee the most limiting aspect is your ability to play your class, and not the race you've selected. If you want to be in a hardcore trials guild then your race matters. If you aren't a good player, it's not going to matter if you're a bosmer or argonian.

Mag DPS

WTB Reading comprehension for all the people selecting tank.

I would say mag dps considering there are legit two races (dunmer + altmer) that can compete. Whereas stam dps has 3-4 (redguar then cagit then orc theeeen bosmer) that could potentially compete depending on build.

From least to most forgiving:

mag dps > stam dps > healer > tank

Mag DPS only has like 2 viable race choices, stam has 4 arguably

Thanks to the Betty netch I have next to no issues with resource sustain, and my heals are still strong enough to keep people alive.

And a bosmer should be able to preform just as well as a khajiit.

That's good to hear! I'm on console and get warden tommorow so its been weighing heavy on my mind. I have a friend who is an orc templar healer and he goes on vet trial runs often.

So Spinner Findulaen is a go !

Depends on the class and the role. Which instantly pushes this to 20 possibles. A NB Tank is probably the most racially dependent build. If you're not on an Imperial, or Argonian, you're going to be in for a lot of pain.
