So ZOS forgot to add the following to the patch notes about pets which is a little unprofessional if you ask me...
Hey guys, apologies for the delay. We got some answers tracked down for you and this is, actually, intended behavior. There were some changes for pets that went in back on the PTS, and unfortunately the patch notes for the changes were missed. Here are the things we changed and what is currently live:
- Removed passive healing from summoned pets.
- Increased a pet's damage reduction to radius attacks to 85% from 75%. This bonus applies to all attacks in Trials.
- Clannfear pets no longer taunt enemies in Trials.
I totally get and understand the damage nerf. I don't agree with the removed passive healing simply because they constantly die during boss fights now, so much so that i have completely dropped my pets builds while running dungeons, but whatever i can work around it.
But what i really don't understand is why was the healing removed
OUT OF COMBAT? This seem completely redundant and incredibly obnoxious. So if i fight a mob and if my current pet can't heal and i don't have a heal slotted i am forced to unslot, reslot, resummon after every fight just so i can have my pet back at full health?
How, for the love of Mara, is this considered "intended behavior".
If this was intended would it be considered an exploit if i de-summon, re-summon after each fight? Because thats what it seems like.
This is clearly a bug that should be addressed.
