Newbie Nightblade / Templar Advice

Hi all,

Long time lurker first time poster here. Have come back to ESO after quite a long hiatus, never really got that far the first time round, I had a stamina wood elf Nightblade that got to level 26 and that was about it.

Coming back now there has been ALOT of changes, the champion system is all new (not that i got to veteran ranks previously) and the ONE tamriel changes etc.

I found it really hard to get going again with the NB so I started up levelling a templar as I like the healing side but as I'm not a serious gamer, I play ESO 99.9% of the time playing solo and haven't done any dungeons that isn't THAT important I guess. I enjoy the game mainly for exploring, the story & the crafting elements but I feel like I've hit a bit of a wall in that I don't really know what I need to pursue equipment/rotation/champion wise and my character is starting to feel lacking in some of the solo elements. I've hit level 50 and am currently champion level 75 but haven't used any points yet as I didn't really know what I was doing.

Would really appreciate some advice on what gear I should be aiming for (where to farm it, if possible), a decent (but simple) skill rotation that will get me through all the solo questing (I'm thinking there is more than puncturing sweep spam?) and what do to with my champion points.

Character is a Breton with 59 points in Magicka and 5 in health (from when I was starting out - planning to reset these out at some point), current boon is the mage.

Currently skills/morphs are:
Restoring Light (Rank 50, all passives) -
* Remembrance IV
* Breath of Live IV
* Ritual of Rebirth I
* Radiant Aura IV
* Cleansing Ritual III
* Rune Focus IV (not sure which way to morph this?)

Dawn's Wrath (Rank 48, all passives except restoring spirit 1/2)
* Reflective Light IV
* Dark Flave IV
* Backlash II
* Eclipse II
* Radiant Destruction I

Aedric Spear (Rank 50, all passives):
* Radial Sweep IV
* Puncturing Sweep IV
* Aurora Javelin II
* Topping Charge II
* Spear Shards IV (wasn't sure which way to morph again?
* Blazing Shield III (feel like I should of picked the other morph here?)

General Skills:
* Light Armour Rank 50 - all passives
* Destructive Staff Rank 45 - no skills with points
* Restoration Staff Rank 36 - no skills with points
* Mages Guild Rank 7 - Entropy III only in here

So that's my main and then separately i'd really appreciate on the best way to re-visit my night blade as I've started to use this character as my main crafter, I had a stamina build but I reset so this is now a blank sheet in terms of stats but I don't have a whole lot of skill points left due to the crafts. Figured i'd better put some points into fighting skills before I totally run out so any suggestion as to what would be the simplest build that'll get me through some more of the content without too much hassle so I can make sure I have enough points for my crafting jobs going forward?

Sorry if a little long winded!

Thanks !

    For soloing at entry level, templars and Sorcerors are really good, so that is in your favor. Sweeps is your spammable, and will give you really great survivability. You'll want channeled focus for the magicka return. Your passives already make standing in your rune increase your heals by 8% (minor mending).

    As for spears, this is also an easy choice. For solo or dps builds, run the DoT morph. For healing, run luminous. I run structured entropy, but that is just me. Inner light would be a great morph to mage light for you. Increases max magicka AND your crit.

    Light armor ward is epic, will save your life ten times over in a pinch.

    Ritual of retribution should stay up while you fight. Passive heal that strengthens the heal from sweeps and BoL, snares enemies, and damages.

    Just a small remark... go back and do those dungons. Many of them home shards you won't wanna miss. :smile:

    Have fun!

    Hi both,

    Much appreciated on the advice - glad to know I'm not too far out on the Templar then and will definitely look at doing dungeons at some point - just find them a little, threatening, not sure - you know? My DPS is seriously lacking currently due to out-dated equips etc. and without knowing the dungeons i'd probably hinder rather than help as a healer so that's mainly why I've stayed away. That and the dungeon finder seems wappy - last time I ended up in a group where everyone left instantly and I was left stuck inside, no very appealing!
