Random 999+ ping spikes. Unplayable

I usually sit around 90-110 latency on every other MMO I play/played (GW2, Archeage, WoW, BDO, Lotro) and this is the only game where my latency is SO inconsistent. Wtf is going on???

I've tried opening all my ports and everything and still I get stupid latency that makes me just want to cancel my sub. jesus christ

Do a forum search, the ESO servers are awful and have been for a long time. @FENGRUSH had an explanation that involves ZOS' anti bot measures way back when. It's on one of his YouTube videos. They may have also downsized the number of pvp servers at one point. Other pvp games, even with a similar latency, function way better. From what I understand latency isn't even the major issue, it's that the servers can't handle the load and the anti bot measures that introduces so much lag. So much potential and so little movement to make it playable.

From you screenshots you're in Cyrodiil so this is most likely just large PvP action causing latency issues.

As the above said this is an issues ESO has had for a while, the devs are actively working to alleviate it and have made some steps forward but no silver bullet yet.

Mostly (from my understanding) it's down to the server calculations and load during large battles.

I've had 1k - 10k ping for 3 days straight already. Tried pinging ESO website in CMD and always got a request timed out

Something is up with the Morrowind update. I get dropped games and huge lag all the time now. Game is also pretty much unplayable.

Bump. Same situation here from Tokyo. constant 999+ ping in PvP rendering the game unplayable. https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/350155/random-999-latency-jumps-since-morrowind-new-zealand - the guys here indicate that closing the patcher during gaming might help but I didn't notice the difference. The game PvP in 30 days campaign is unplayable, while in 7 days campaign just boring. Currently, people outside the US/Canada playing on N/A are mostly out of the PvP. I hope Zenimax solve this or otherwise there is no point for me to play TESO anymore.
