Should items bought from guild traders always turn into "bound"/non-tradeable

Pros:
- no more price flipping and price fixing
- players wont be able to buy out things from traders and artificially increase price by relisting them
- goods bought from guild traders will be truly for personal use

Cons:
- if you buy something for mistake you cant sell it back
- if you buy something you might need but then change your mind cant sell it back

How are the pros pros? If people can earn their gold that way, good for them.

I believe the intent of this design is to allow open markets so I disagree that anything should bind on purchase that starts out BoE and allows to be sold.

While I'm not the one who thinks we should have global stores or an auction house, I do think the open market should be increased to allow for the linking of guild alliance stores. This because increasing guilds to 2500 members doesn't seem what ZOS wants to do.

This would potentially add another 5 stores per guild for a max of 25 more guild stores in the drop down. (Maybe you'd build in some restriction to having a guild trader disables you're store but does tell where the store is)

Pros are pros when someone with 100mil of gold suddenly empties all guild stores from specific material needed daily by every player and then will single-handedly decide what to sell it for now and you are that player who wonders why yesterday that item was in every guild store and in a span of one night its nowhere to be found.

Some people love playing the market. They buy a bunch of lower cost items then just barely undercut the next highest listing. It's like a separate game inside this one. It's gives items value and creates economy but there are too many sellers and guild stores for it to get obnoxious, so it tends to work.

But it will reappear as players continue to farm it, right? You'd have to be pretty vigilant to hit every trader in every zone and buy up all the material. Sounds like a full time job, and by the time you're done you'd have to start again (like painting the Golden Gate bridge)

Great argument against auction houses though... if someone is determined to strip a material from the game, make 'em travel. A lot. lol

Some people have more fun being merchant traders that play the markets, then doing quests, etc.

I've been surprised by people but don't limit your thoughts to one person or a few. Consider if they are vigilant, it could be anywhere from 1-499 people in contrast against another group with a similar itent which may or may not involve the same items.

This could be in one zone or multiple zones

The beauty of this design is it forces circulation but it has hurdles which creates a truly open market and always presents different opportunities

While I'd like some more access to different guild stores I'm realistic that if done, it could drastically change things for the better and the worse. (My idea is to allow guild alliances so that each guild can link another guilds store in the drop downs available).

The items should be re-selable, but not in a guild store. That would allow buying for a friend in need (like me, standing at a remote craftstation and realising I'm 2 ingots short), but prevent profiteering.
I'm not sure if it can be done, sadly.

If someone takes the time and actually earns gold from it, then so be it. Other sellers will be able to sell that item for a higher than usual price as well. From the buyer's point of view, yes, it can be annoying, but the alternative is you can go get the stuff you need yourself.

The thing is, your solution is going to upset more players (both buyers and sellers) than the current situation (where only the buyers are upset).

NO NO NO. you are forgeting that reselling in this game actually has a lot of Risk involved in it already. many resellers often take losses when they try to flip items. the system is fine as it is. IF anything i would actually prefer that they remove bound items completely.

No, NO, HELL NO!!! If there was a central auction house then maybe this would be valid. But the effort & resources it would take to control a market do not warrant any need for a change like this.

Flipping goods is part of any healthy economy since prices that are allowed to adjust freely are important signals. That's particularly true in a market with insularity like the one in ESO.

The idea of selling my non rip off items to some material flipping greedy guy does suck, as normally the idea is to hook up a new player with a fair reasonable price.

So definitely understand the bound when bought thing, but that would suck cause shopping for others is fun. (gifts).
