Haven't Played Since Vanilla - Where to Start?

Greetings! To make a long story short, I tried out all the beta access, played vanilla with some friends and then never got into the rest of the content or purchased any DLC. I was just gifted the Morrowind Collector's Edition so, a few brief questions:

1 - I am starting from scratch with a new Breton Sorcerer. I skipped the tutorial (still the same from launch?) I am now in Seyda Neen and a bit clueless on where to even go. Should I level in Morrowind or do I need to travel to another area?

2 - Why are my stats so high on my gear? Any reason why I started with two handed weapons?

3 - I am debating on getting a month of ESO Plus to access all DLC. Is any DLC still worth it? Not worth it?

4 - I like running dungeons in other MMOs but only ran the first two back in Vanilla ESO. Why do I start? Are they even worth running any more?

Any other tips for an original player that only made it to like level 30 and didn't get far would be appreciated. TIA!

1. Tutorial is now in Vvardenfell if you have the Morrowind purchase and on PC (coming to console next week)
2. Late last year, ZOS launched a new version of the game where all enemies are champion rank 160 and players not at this rank (ex: your new toon) is scaled up to be able to compete. This is normal. All new toons have always started with a 2h and bow, if my memory serves me right.
3. All the DLC is great, but chances are you wont finish it all inside that month unless you just rush all the questing. IC is got PVP with it, otherwise they are all PVE DLCs. Wrothgar is particularly good, IMO.
4. Dungeons are definitely worth running. Especially once you hit lvl 50 and then CP rank 160, you'll get a lot of your end-game gear from dungeons, whether they be loot drops or the rewards from doing pledges and killing the boss on vet mode.

So can you access all DLC at any level or is every area level specific? Also, is every dungeon level specific as well?

Def sub, buying ontent is a scam because the game is becoming unplayable without a sub.

After a couple months subs you can decide to buy a dlc if you want to unsub.

It's nothing like before, play it has a new game. In regards how you play depends on you. Some people enjoy quests, while others are love dungeons and raids. There's huge number of role-play people and some merchants who move stock and control,but not limit the economy. On other hand you can treasure hunting and exploring as there's many sights to see.

1) you can level yourself in skyreach. There's people who power level for coin there. You can do random dungeons or public ones then there's questing since the added more XP to that.

2) back in one tamerial everyone got power leveled, but you will still need to get gear. You can find crafters for coin in captial cities.

3) You will find more use use of plus after two weeks of gameplay. I do think eso plus has value, but if you don't the dlc are for most part are enjoyable so give it a shot.

4) dungeons are my favorite part, but make sure you walk in prepared with food and such.

Lastly welcome back, hope you enjoy the game as much as me.

* All of Tamriel is accessible from start
* Every area is battle-leveled - your character will be boosted at lower levels (primary stats) and it will fade as you reach the same level as the NPCs. You have to keep skills/gear leveled to compensate as it drops off.
* Every NPC is Champion Point (CP) level 160 (Old Veteran Rank 16) in damage dealt, damage mitigation and Health/Stamina/Magicka stats.
* No level gates for any quest. Every quest is CP160 with CP160 NPC.
* Skeevers have 13K+ HP. Mudcrabs have 31K+ HP. Crocs have 47K and simple trolls have 108K+. Bone-colossus basic quest boss can pop out with 250K+ HP.
* All XP is locked to character level - you will get the same XP for the same NPC no matter where you go and it will only scale higher as your character level rises

L50 CP300 - Skeever 88 XP - Alit 1836 XP - Thunderbug 1836 XP

L30 CP300 - Skeever 7 XP - Alit 169 XP - T-Bug 169 XP - Humanoid 169 XP

L4 CP300 - Skeever 2 XP - Alit 45 XP - T-Bug 45 XP

* All gear from loot now drops at your current character level L1-50/CP10-160, everywhere.
* At L50 all characters share the same CP level and earn CP at the same CP point
* All new characters can use pool of CP earned but cannot start earning themselves until L50
* Overland Bosses are now scaled to 2~4 man content
* Craglorn is now majority solo content with 2~4 after that.
* Crafting and leveling mechanics have not changed much except for some changes to node scaling and writs and furniture.

So, basically, everything is free game from the start right? Do you still have to spam LFG for dungeons or is there an updated/queue system?

Also, DLC just opens up new areas and quests that are otherwise inaccessible right?

Lastly, I have 3,500 crowns as a gift. Anything worth purchasing at this point or is ESO Plus all you "need"?

I would start at another game that gives you actual content for your 40$

Questing content. its not what traditional MMOs do with expansions. other games give you 3x the content for hat zos spit out for 40$. This is just single player content with BG and a new class. the trial is nice but again other MMO.s give you multiple multi group zones.

Ahhh ok. I get it. Well, I'd prefer more single play Elder Scroll experiences so maybe this is the next best thing

translation - some people are angry and think that Morrowind is too little content to be an "expansion"/isn't worth it's price. He's just saying "don't get Morrowind".

You still need to spam LFG for group dungeons/trials (12 man raids), because group finder works some times. They have the best loot/items, so there's people still doing them. (For example Illambris monster set is considered to be one of the best 2pc sets for mag, Vicious Ophidian is one of the best sets for stamina setups)
There's tons of content in base game and DLCs are just extra. They can be challenging for low levels, but a piece of cake for high level, so you should try ESO+ later on to be able to do max amount of dlc content in a month. Orsinium is definetly the dlc I recommend to buy first, since it has the largest landmass, it has solo trial and more quests than Morrowind.

EDIT:
Tips:
- do not rush trough content
- Grind/rush your crafting skills to max and do crafting research (traits)
- If you can, find a likeminded guild
- Enjoy
