Yes EU players get shafted in respect to maintenance times but it's not really an issue worth contemplating
Let's be honest, everybody knows that ZOS just hate EU players without reason.

Cant help that this is a U.S. company based in N.A. and the time zones aren't the same everywhere. You seem to think they should start maintenance at 11:00 p.m. EST so it doesn't inconvenience you...

This, either I sit up late and play or I do writs and dailies in the morning.
Always on work during day, if home office its nice to not be tempted.
I just take one random dungeon :)

Whether you do maintenance during working hours or in the middle of the night, there's always someone who 'gets shafted'.
It's just the way it is.

The servers arent all located in the US you know, the EU servers are in Germany. Which is, you know...on a different time zone.

if the US servers can get engineers to complete maintenance in the small hours, why cant our fellow German Engineers complete it in the small hours.

I don't think you read properly, my request is that maintenance is at different times for each server. So 3:00AM for EDT and also 3:00 for GMT. They used to be at different times so I don't get why they can't go back to it? It's not like the only people that work for ZOS are in US, they also need people in Germany to manage things there ( Germany is there the EU servers are located )

Been complaining about this since they started doing maintenance during the day. Was a lot happier back in 2015 when the server would go offline in the wee hours of the morning.

Btw, not everyone has a 9-5 job from Monday to Friday, plenty have their days off during the week and this essentially takes a day away from what little game time working people have.

They would not do it if it was not needed. Perhaps the patching process it is more complex due to the multiple languages?

Apparently the EU maintenance will take place next Monday despite it being a holiday at least in all of Germany. Last maintenance was done on Tuesday due to Monday being a US holiday. Go figure.

Yeah sure, even I get annoyed if I'm off work and maintenance drags into my morning. I imagine I'd be pretty pissed it it did it every time and it went on into early afternoon. That being said, you literally can't play trials on console, there's more pressing matters than maintenance times.

So after playing ESO on and off since 2014 there is something I noticed. In my opinion the EU playerbase get's shafted every time there is server maintenance.

What I would like to see
For the maintenance times to be different for EU and NA to suit the timezones (i.e EU maintenance would start at 3:00AM GMT and NA maintenance would start at 3:00AM EDT) what I am annoyed about is how now each server maintenance starts at the same time, such as today's patch maintenance starting at 8:00 GMT and 4:00 EDT, why do we (EU Players) get the EU servers closed consistently for a large portion of the normal day, whereas the NA server consistently is back up and running on time for the NA afternoon because of the time difference.

Yes I know that sometimes ZOS runs into problems on EU servers that are not on NA servers which causes it to take longer, yes I know I've heard it before but I am talking about if each maintenance takes exactly the same time that means that the EU player base is missing out on time when they would otherwise be spending playing ESO. I don't know too much about developing a game but I would raise this point, that if the EU constantly has issues that the NA server does not have then this is further proof of us getting shafted. (This is probably the case for NA server's too in vice versa but I'm not sure, I haven't payed enough attention to it so it's probably rubbish what I just said but eh, it's worth a try to have a go at getting more people to agree with my point of view)

Please ZOS, just perform maintenance at sensible times for each server 's playerbase, it would make me and many other players very happy bunnies ^.^

well, understand, that the maintenance team is in USA, so they can not do nightshifts just because we europeans are in an another time zone

Maintenance has to happen at some time...someone is always going to be impacted. Even if they did maintenance in a more EU friendly (or insert time zone here) time, someone would be impacted and complain.

I've played a solid handful of Korean grinders, or games hosted in Ireland. They didn't care about my time zone. Nature of the beast, people work on local times...
