Due to there being no formal tutorial on the three roles (tank, healer, dps), and little information on how tooltips work as well as *misinformation* on certain hints/tooltips , it is no wonder why running even simple Normal dungeons through Group Finder can be a nightmare.
Those vMoL trial groups are part of a very small endgame PvE community of players that like to have strong characters and fulfill roles.
If you want in, you have to understand how to play your role very well and understand mechanics. No other way around it. No one will carry you through vMoL for the skin and waste their time+expensive pots.
However.... guilds that can complete vMoL offer the Dro-m'Athra Skin you'd otherwise never be able to get for gold. They will carry you through the final boss fight, Rakkhat, if you pay them for the service Guilds that invest the massive amount of time, effort, and expensive potions to beat vMoL are rewarded with gold from Carry runs and free skins.
That's the system
Why this trial is different from its counterpart does it Have skin its everyone say trial ve mol broken ~!~

Progression guilds are usually looking for people who will continue raiding with them even after they get the achivements.
Certain guilds are selling skins, though, I've even heard of some cases when a no-death achievement was sold.
P.S. Even though there are people who dominate leaderboards, it doesnt mean that no one can technically beat them. Its not like they can make vMoL or vHoF impossible for others. There's just not that many competitive people, and naturally, those who are willing to invest more time and effort are going to "dominate". Hey, they're even making videos and guides so that more players can conquer veteran content!.

Well essentially vMoL is the most difficult trial mechanics-wise. Not sure how it competes with the new recent trial vHoF.
People say vMoL is broken because on console, there is a huge problem with ESO crashing in that trial, especially before the first boss.
