hi all

bit of a strange question but im pretty new (LVL 23) so need some advice regarding armour.
im an Orc Sorceror and am wearing heavy armour for protection more than anything but im wondering if, as a sorceror i should for go the protection for light armour and the magika bonuses i get from some sets.
i know some people will say one thing and some will say another, im trying to get peoples opions and reasons why they suggest one or the other.

Any advice would be appreciated

Generally speaking, magicka damage dealers and healers use light, stamina focused damage dealers use medium, and tanks use heavy. Unless you plan on PvPing soon, where many damage dealers also use heavy, that's the general trend to stick with for now.

Absolutely. As a magicka character you have access to shields (damage shields like harness magicka from light armour skill tree, conjured ward from daedric summoning) which pretty much make you more tanky than wearing heavy armour anyway :)

have you learned any crafting skills yet ? I'd make heavy armour gear at crafting station that gives Max Magicka and spell crit. Heavy armor doesn't slow down an Orc very much with their racial passives and abilities.

In addition to the comments on how light armor with shields is good, the passives from race and light such as spell penetration are worth it.
