Can we ever get gold steal/loot items? No? How about purples... No? Stop gimping the game

once you work out a thief's run. Much stealing opportunity and know the guards circuit. You can make money though it doesn't happen overnight. it takes time though, as the above post if you want to make money that's all the content you are going to get. However searching for that sweet spot for stealing is fun.

One key thing here - yes, it's nice that you make Massive Money off guild traders.... but none of that is "new" money. It's just gold that's being recirculated from other players (plus having a tax knocked off, as a gold sink.)

Stolen & vendored loot is new money - it's gold from thin air being added to the economy. MMOs try to control stuff like that... hence gold sinks like repairs, housing, trader fees & bids.

So, no. The drops of new money are not balanced against the fact that you're amazing on the guild trader. If you're making so damn much, why do you need to steal in the first place? I steal because that (and quest rewards) is the only money I get. I've never sold things to other players. Took me almost two months (on six characters) to save up 1.3m for a house.

Thieving can actually be quite lucrative, but they can't make it too good as it's the equivalent of printing more money. Easier availability of gold without bringing anything of value to the market just means inflation. They'd have to raise the skill ceiling in some way, introducting new difficult and very risky ways to steal with higher profit potential.

My LD is/was maxed. I used to steal often earlier on for income, then got into high-volume guilds. Then took a break for roughly 5 months. I was referring to more or less junk purple or gold items to fence. After returning from a hiatus, I started picking pockets or searching local homes. The odds still seem to favor about a 60% green, 5% blue, and remaining white which I only take if the rest is full as it's better than nothing to launder it. Recipes, I wasn't including. Once the market settles, those will be worthless junk as the market will get saturated, and again, the high sales are guild transactions which will fluctuate.

I've only ever seen 1 purple junk loot item, which was in one of the DLC cities off a nobleman or whatever. As others stated, they are extremely rare. I probably have nearly 1k hours into the game, and only remember one. That's just ridiculous.

I don't think it's right to force people into guilds (correction, trading guilds) to make the most cash, though they are definitely great, but a pita when the add-ons aren't getting updated and it hangs in the inventory, etc.

I don't think it's asking too much for a higher purple rate (talking junk items to fence) and maybe have a guarded , roaming high-value target (even a random encounter spawn) with a gold item with say a 5% chance to loot from, even if in a restricted, instanced, area, etc. The thieving aspect is greatly under-balanced.

Gold jewelry from locations that are not PvP, should be easier to get. They used to be, still understand why they are gone. People say elite vendors have them, but whatever. The odds of getting 2 Red Mountain gold rings and 1 necklace are basically zero. Kinda unfair to new players as I still have gold jewelry from the past..... that they'll never see.
