Im with you @Judgedread101071 ...this is just laziness what they have done now and its including morrowind..for 1st its not expansion..its just rather dlc but only thanks to :Morrowind" name with very good history in games and nostaltgia, they call morrowind as expansion which this isnt

sam thing how they forgot to raise "floor" with lower ceiling....they rowered it more than ceiling which has adapted and now this "floor" is mre unable to done just vet endgame event without hm which was able to do only for really top pve guilds

I agree. If they were iterested then player feedback would be listened to, there was alot of sound and logical feedback given. Second we wouldnt be getting major balance changes oce [er year, we;d get them everyb2-4 weeks.

This is just a kneejerk reaction by zos in an attempt to.. I don't even know to be quite honest. It lacks any form of sense no matter how you look at it.

honestly imo what eso should focus on in the future

    - rework champion points from the core
    - differentiate the set effects between pve and pvp because the two will never be balanced
    - rework old *** sets
    - make hybrids viable again

    thats my take

If I could do 42k DPS and did not want to do PVP, I would have found PVE boring a long time ago and moved onto another game.

They need to find a way to separate changes between PVP and PVE because PVP is where you 'compete' against other players. I also think that high DPS without having sustain issues is a flawed system and something they needed to address. Whether they have gone the right way or not is not for me to say.

I am on PS4 so do not yet know how the changes will affect any of my characters.

The game needs more content and that is a fact.

    More zones. More dungeons.

    More classes. More everything ..

And it is true the Morrowind update did leave me scratching my head, why were these changes implemented in the way they were ?? It is a mystery only ZOS knows.

You don't HAVE to heavy attack.
You can still play the game just fine without that obnoxious heavy attacking. (And yes, it IS obnoxious, which is why I don't do it with most weapons.)

PVE died when they took all sell-able drops out of trials and dungeons.

If you don't PVP really no reason to even play.

So the only purpose of PvE is to sell dungeon drops? Interesting.

For me it wasn't the only thing. But it was the thing that encouraged me to do it more then a handful of times. Then boredom sets in. When people get bored they quit playing. And quit spending.

Still having a ton of fun with this game!! ZOS has done a great job and the new patch is moving the game in the right direction.

The only issues are just fixing a few broken parts of the game, lag/performance, group/dungeon finder, broken trials, etc.

If you're not having fun with the game anymore, then stop playing it.

    It really is that simple

I enjoy the changes to sustain. I was sick of broken builds that had insane amounts of regen and damage output with no drawbacks. So far I've come across some very good builds, but nothing that is completely broken, like before the changes.

Agreed OP, I loath the long ass heavy attacks that give you back nothing if you have to bail and block or roll dodge mid way through for a mechanic. I am not having fun anymore. I am getting more out of going on the forums and bitching than from playing the game.
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

Well as a main tank i have to say the game isnt harder for me. Just more boring: instead of providing orbs, alkosh, chains, lightning blockade and all the stuff you do in special situations, ill just stand there with freaking 60k live spamming shield and do balance now an than. Its really easy. But boring :/ but well if the healers figured smt out to buff and heal the raid better with theyre killed sustain maby i can go back to the times where i actually needet to be healed...

Totally sounds like how I feel with the whole change to sustainability, OP. I absolutely disagree with this entire new system. I don't understand why they keep making this game more UNFUN to play than more FUN to play. Every other MMO, their content patches may have nerfed things, but overall the game would get more enjoyable to actually play (new skills, new classes, new weapons, etc). This is the only example where I can honestly say the game is a lot more unfun (battle mechanic wise) now than it was in the past.

I'm hoping this is just a really crappy necessity before they get to the fun stuff, otherwise, what's the point in playing a game where the largest chunk of it isn't fun to play?

You're one person out of a group of people playing this game. This isn't a ZOS hate thread, this is a thread trying to give feedback to improve one's game. That's the purpose of the forums. It's really toxic to just tell people to quit. It's only hurting the game itself. You're removing veteran players that could seriously help your game in the long run, not to mention we should put ourselves in other people's shoes instead of selfishly clinging to our own views (not saying this is what you're doing personally, but it is what I see a lot of forum posters do).

It's great you're having fun with the game. I hope you still continue to do so. That being said, a lot of people aren't, and they're loyal fans to ZOS. Whether or not loyal or veteran, everyone has the right to voice their opinion.

Before any of the forum trolls start,I am letting know that I 've completed evrything there is in this game as far as PVE goes. This includes vr MSA with flawless on 3 characters and all the hard modes in every trial except HoF which at this momment i have no interest of doing.( With that being said this is not a "content is too hard" thread.)
I can still hit 42k+ on the dummy with little effort and only ele and potions as support.
I can still complete all Trials with some loss as far as dps and time is concerned.
BUT is it enjoyable? Fruck NO
In every single fight now i am forced for 40% of the time to just sit there with my ....dirk in my hand and heavy attack so i dont run out of resources.
Of course there are dozens of ways to balance things out after the huge nerf to sustainability (reduction glyphs.poisons, different mundus etc) in your pathetic effort to tone down dps , but none of them will save you from having to heavy attack a lot, which leads to dull, slow paced fights wich is nothing like we were used to.
Some people will say L2 adapt but if buy adapt you mean learn how to ...heavy attack then you are stupid.Thats the only adaptation they are forcing us to do which again lead to the slow AF fights.
Your laziness to create challenging content with clever mechanics lead you to this nerf fest.
And all you actually accomplished is make a somewhat good game to be boring AF.
Also you charged 40 euros for a DLC or expansion or whatever you want to call this but you didnt offer one single free character slot you cheap *** so....kudos to you.

Have to agree. If you are competetive by nature and like a hard mastered rotation this is the worst patch ever released for this game. I used to be able to keep DPS up with sweeps (12% nerf this patch) and a good execute (21% nerf last patch). Now Im stuck with HA build in a class that has no passives that support this. Im almost certain Im done with this game. (Yes you can have my stuff)...

But comparing the 2 videos posted, one with a rotation before the patch and the other with the rotation after the patch, the second one does look much more boring in fact.

This is something that has always troubled me as far as the forum goes.
Clearly i never attacked anyone personaly starting this thread so it buffles me to see ...people(?) attacking ME as if i did something to them!! you can politly dissagree with my point of view but dont start all that "stop QQ" or whatever.
This thread was addresed to ZOS.By all means you have the right to defend your precious company but do that by presenting facts and not personal opinions and attacks.

Fact No1 : They eliminated the 25% cost reduction tree which leads to a huge sustainability issue and dps loss on long fights.
Fact No2: Orbs now only benefit the one who gets the synergy which again leads to the same issue.
Fact No3 :If you want to have any kind of sustain but not sacrificing too much dps you have to implement heavy attacking in your rotation.
Fact No4 :Elemental drain got nerfed from 400 mag/tick to 300/ tick

There other facts I could present but its gonna be way too long for anyone to read so i ll stick with those basic ones.
Anyone who says they didnt notice any difference they are probably playing a different game or they are the light attack spammers we've all seen at world bosses in which case you probably saw some dps increase since light attacks got buffed.

And last the only thing which is not a fact but a personal opinion is that the game with all that heavy attacking is boring to ME,which no one one can tell me i am wrong or right since it is MY feeling of the game which you dont HAVE to share.
But not accepting the facts and saying everything is as before (especially after devs themselves stated they wanted to tone down the pace by nerfing all the above) makes you delusional.

The problem with Heavy Attacks is that they aren't fun to do. Using your autos in games like Smite, OW etc—your autos are actually fun to use. Heavy Attacks are just fantasy-style autos, and they're boring as hell to use.

You do get like 5-7k resources back though, so that's OP as ***.

Really? Considering that it's mainly the PvPers who complain constantly about the game (and they're not letting us down in that respect over battlegrounds) I find that a strange suggestion. In any event, most PvEers don't run trials or obsess over dungeons, so for most PvEers the game is fine - and in fact, rather good!

Totally sounds like how I feel with the whole change to sustainability, OP. I absolutely disagree with this entire new system. I don't understand why they keep making this game more UNFUN to play than more FUN to play.

They straight up told us in one of their live chats. "It is just too much work [to do things right and] balance PVE and PVP separately." So we get a massive hack job shortcut instead. The complete removal of a sustain CP star (not a nerf, a COMPLETE REMOVAL). That's 15% cost reduction just gone. Then SIMULTANEOUSLY they also nerf cost reduction from armor and class passives, gear and abilities. Then they nerf almost every class to fit this new shortcut solution.

Then they have all this coincide with an expansion they are trying to hype. It was just terrible shortsighted planning and refusal to listen to the PTS community all around on ZOS's part and they deserve the flak they are getting for it.

They also didn't address any of thee long-standing concerns like crafted gear being made obsolete by proc set drops. They still won't even acknowledge a plan to add jewelry crafting, gear re-styling, PVE gear token system weapon dying, etc. Things the community has been asking for literally for years. That is just bad business.

I would say what they need to focus on moving forward is adding these systems people actually want. Correcting over-the-top shortcuts and balancing the game properly by abandoning this fool's errand mindset that PVP and PVE can be balanced successfully as one. But most importantly, always give AT LEAST as much as you are taking away.

Also, don't plan your next massive cluster change to coincide with an expansion you are trying to hype. Hello Marketing 101.
