The next move will be to raise level cap add more attribute points (make you regrind all your gear saying it's the best way to fix things) then moving up those "max level caps" they put on everything. It is forcing a many many times failed system of nonsense tried by many many other mmo's who think people want to do the exact same thing 100's of times for the same crap over and over.
The problem that every producer of a product or provider of a service has is that, no matter how popular it may become, the "good" becomes stale. Marketing is all about making a generic "good" into a distinctive one, identified as a "brand". Brand loyalty of customers is the goal. As a Chinese proverb states, "The secret to wealth is repeat business."

Many players like games in which their characters can continue to "level" indefinitely, because that is their primary satisfaction from playing the game. As characters increase in "level", they become more difficult to kill and more powerful, whether in killing their enemies or in other ways as well. Does anyone ever gain enough security and/or power?

Other players enjoy participating in groups for dungeon raids and "trials". They learn something from both success and failure, and seeking victory is an enjoyable, satisfying challenge in and of itself. Eventually they win. So they always want new challenges.

No doubt that you get the point, so I will refrain from writing an essay about the subject tonight.

The true definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. Copying what other people do trying to succeed where they fail is the same thing as doing it over and over yourself.
Nice twist, but the original remark "One definition of insanity is to continue doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results." was made as a joke.
