    If the game showed you where all of the points of interest were (it already marks most places on your map) then what little sense of exploration that this game still has would be gone.

    The points of interest are visualised as specific places. So really this is already in effect in game. It's just not one thing; each place is it's own unique indicator, some more obvious than others, but all 'something'.

    Or maybe actually pick a direction and just walk? The idea is you need to explore to discover things.

    yeah okay, lets go following UI markers all day, because thats totally immersive and enhances the game in everyway, staring at UI rather than in game world
