I am a stam DK and would like to ask if these 2 sets are good?

Pvp- 5 hunding (2H sharpened weapon) 5 spriggen, and 1 veldereth (or however u spell it)

Pve- 5 hunding (2 sharpened daggers), 5 spriggan, 2 veldereth

Is this a decent build, NOT PERFECT, like the maelstrom builds, but just as a higher up build

And actually, is the pve build better for PvP than the PvP build, it's a 2H but I have to sacrifice a set piece?

Also my sorc friend is nearly CP 160, I want to help him get a greater starter CP 160 set, would 5 julianos, (5 necropotence or 5 spinner), 1 spell DPS monster set be good?

In regards to the first post, 2H is generally preferred in PvP over dual wield due to the survivability rally gives. You dual wield build will do more damage overall, but the lack of a gap closer and decrease in healing might spell trouble. You could always run the 2H on your back bar and forfeit the range damage of a bow. It basically comes down to personal preference and whatever suits your playstyle better.

For the second post, don't underestimate the DPS benefit that some of the 2 pc monster sets give. As a super basic flexible starter setup, I'd recommend 3 pc willpower jewelry, 5 pc julianos, random sharpened weapons, and 2 pc Illambris head and shoulder. This setup is very cheap, very easy to get, strong enough to get your friend going through vet content, and still leaves room for improvement. From there your friend can make some decisions about what build or playstyle to pursue and can start grinding/saving up for their more ideal setup.

Thanks for such a great response, i probably will run 2H back bar for rally, I know what I will do if I ever get maelstrom weapons, but less than 1% of people have it, and also it could take forever to get the right traits

I want to be great in pvp, but I don't know how big the power diference between my build and perfect builds are

In my experience, getting sharpened on a 2H was much easier to do than on a destro staff. I've received several copies of all 3 types of sharpened 2Handers, and have yet to see a single sharpened destro lol That was all done before the changed the drop rates in homestead though, so who knows.

Having BiS gear is really only a piece of the puzzle. Being successful in PvE or PvP in this game is much more about having the right situational awareness, knowledge of your classes' strengths and weaknesses, knowledge of your opponents' classes' strengths and weaknesses, ability to read the flow of a fight, knowledge and application of good position and timing, and knowing what is necessary to properly sustain through a fight, and many other seemingly minor things that separate the good from the very strong. I've seen an emperor brought down by one player with lower CP and worse gear simply because he was a better player.

So moral of the story, don't get too fixated on gear. Only playing PvP will make you better at PvP. Just take time to think about how a fight goes down and what determined the outcome, and figure out how to use that knowledge to play better in the next fight.

Definitely 5 necropotence working with Volatile Familiar pet (awesome aoe pulse damage) and stick to one pet only - forget the useless flying parrot. Second set is only 4 pcs. to save space for full monster set, I recommend Grothdarr - good supporting aoe hitting every several seconds. For magicka sorc you need to maximise magicka pool.
Julianos is good but I was personally into spell damage and magicka increase so my choice was Light of Cyrodiil 4 pcs. All divines obviously.
Sharpened lightning Staff with shock gold glyph. All jewellery gold glyphs incr. spell damage.
