Sandwiches aside, the hunger is not a world boss.
He is tough, though. That is for sure.
The room is rather small, and he can fill it quite effectively, which makes positioning a problem. Stay out of the corners and break his crowd control on you as fast as possible. You will want to make sure to have potions.
I took him on with a level 5-ish dual wield stamina Nightblade, and yes, he was one heck of a surprise, and yes, I died. I was able to get past him by staying out of his way while trying not to get caught, and not trying to DPS him to death. This is one battle where if I let myself run out of resources, I won't make it. I had to be smart about how, and when, to approach him.
Edit: I misunderstood which hunger you were talking about. Take the above as general information when hungry. Specific to that monster, this comment is not.

✭Wait, there's a world boss to defeat to progress a solo mission? If so, that's not cool. I'm ok with harder-than-usual bosses (I defeated Doshia at launch and did not even get a t-shirt), but if I need a group to defeat something and progress a solo mission, I won't be happy.
