communication is what makes or breaks these types of games- why this hasn't been done is beyond me.

Group chat for Console is build into the game, has been from launch. Very, very, VERY rarely used tho ....

It's used in 90% of the groups (random or otherwise) that I'm in on PS4. Xbox should be the same. It's a requirement in Trials, too, with no exceptions. Most console users are quite familiar with either in game or party chat. PC users are more comfortable with kb in drop-in-drop out sessions.
Because it's absolutely not necessary (for ZoS to develop).communication is what makes or breaks these types of games- why this hasn't been done is beyond me.

Built in voice chat is one of the console's big advantages over the PC version (not enough to offset the PC's add-on advantage, but nothing to sneeze at either). It's especially useful for PUG's and random group-ups. I've played on both the PS4 and PC and I don't even bother with PUG's on the PC anymore. Text chat is a PITA, and I've never once seen a PUG where someone links to a Discord or Teamspeak server. PC communication is only worth a damn if you're already in a guild with its own dedicated Teamspeak or Discord server.
If the console versions had add-ons, they would be a no-brainner, IMHO. People who say that PC doesn't need built-in VC have obviously never experienced how useful and convenient that feature is on consoles. It's a really nice feature to have, and makes communication much simpler.

Really? Wow, that's a stretch.Emma_Overload wrote: »I've never agreed more with an OP than this one!
Teamspeak is the BIGGEST 3rd party CHEAT software in the game... worse than Cheat Engine, if you ask me. The only way Battlegrounds will ever be fair is if EVERYONE who plays the game has access to in-game voice chat. I'll never understand why ZOS didn't build this into the game from day one.

I am mystified by the idea (that some are advancing in this thread) that a confused, adhoc mish-mash of third party add-on VC apps are somehow just as good as an automatic built-in VC system that everyone has in common. I can only conclude that some of you have either drank way too much "Master Race" koolaid or are being willfully obtuse. The current Teamspeak/Discord/Ventrillo/Whatever VC solution on PC is kludgy at *best*. Anyone who doesn't see how a native VC system would be much better, more convenient, more useful, etc. is kidding themselves.
You must never have played a MMO where all you could hear was the *** who thought it was awesome to cuss at the top of his voice for an hour and fill the entire town with his rant. No.. no voice communication unless I choose to run an application.
