I think it would be nice for us to provide a translators guide book of sorts for new players.

LFG - Means Looking for Group
LFM - Means looking for member

Pledges - Are daily dugeons you can do at lvl 45
Daily Random - is daily dugeon you can do starting at lvl 10 for tons of XP (a level or two)
Veteran Dungeon or Pledges- can be done at cp 10 but we reccomend you wait till cp 160 and you are fully geared for a pleasant experience)
Veteran Dungeons Hard Mode - can be done at cp 10 but we reccomend you wait till cp 300 and you are fully geared for a pleasant experience)

Trials - 12 man dugeons ( can be done at lvl 1 but we recomend you are cp 10 to 160 at least)
Veteran Trials - We recommend 20k dps and cp 350 for a good experience

vXXX stands for a dugeons or Trial (open group finder (press p) and look at first letters)

Healer - heals
Tank - taunts
dps - kills

    Good overview for dungeons, DD is also used for dps.
    You will see something similar for world bosses even if they often can have weird names.

    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    Gear wise, it is advised to join dungeons and trials after cp160. You will benefit the loot most by doing so.

    WW Bite - Werewolf bite (Makes you turn into a WW)
    Mino - Minatour boss in The Gold Coast

    You may also see nyz, poa... in Wrothgar zone chat. Those mean the group bosses/quests.

    no offense but this is flat out wrong.

    If you would've said vet pledges you would've had more of a case, but stay away from pledges in general until you're max lvl!?

    Champion point 500+ damage dealer looking for group veteran White-Gold Tower hard mode.

    You'll see lots of, at a first glance, mumbo jumbo when first going to the big cities and quest hubs.

    MM = Master Merchant, an addon for calculating the value of certain items that sells from guild merchants.
    PC = Price check, usually requesting MM data.

    Stam = stamina.
    Mag = magicka.
    Stamblade = stamina nightblade.
    Magsorc = magicka sorcerer.

    Zone means reloading the game world either by changing zones or going into or out of a delve or outlaw refuge

    PUG = Pick-up group.
    BIS = Best in slot.

    Meta = ?? no one knows. The word meta has nothing to do with the term meta.
    Meta mostly means "use whatever you can to your advantage, especially skill/item imbalance and expoits" or something like "the most impact from the least input.".

    If you are new to this game, avoid anything meta until you are over 160 champion points, meta is literally irrelevant until you start doing trial hardmodes.

    Thanks for starting this... I remember looking for just such a guide when I started.

    Attack Weaving and Animation Canceling= Two common methods to increase damage output.

    Rotation= A person's go-to method of using their abilities

    NMG= Night Mother's Gaze (a crafted gear set, for stamina damage dealers)

    Overland= Game content or gear that isn't in a dungeon or PvP area.

    DW= Dual Wield

    Nerf= Change to make gear or ability less desirable, Buff= change to make it more desireable

    HA/LA= Heavy/Light Attack

    HS= Heavy Sack (good loot!)

    Ganker=Kills people before they see them or have a chance to fight back in PvP. Annoying.

    Toon=A person's in-game character. Alt is Alternate Toon, played less often. Main is the Toon played most often.

    Decon=Deconstructing items at crafting benches to level the crafting skills and get crafting materials.

    Pots=Potions

    Food Check= Before entering a dungeon, a reminder to ensure the buffs to Magicka, Health, and/or Stamina are applied, especially for low health characters who are squishy (die easily).

    TTC=Alternative to MM (above post), useful for people in few or no trade guilds.

    FTC=Foundry Tactical Combat, an add on to make combat easier, it changes the user interface (ui) and has a DPS counter (reports damage per second, important for people's egos and high level end game content)

    RNG= Random Number Generator, used to refer to the way in which loot drops in this game, often used in a whiny manner.

    Whisper or /w or PST= All refer to the whisper function in chat used for one-on-one conversations (clicking on the person's name in the chat window is the easiest method)

    COD= Part of the mail system that allows people to pay for an item upon receiving it in the mail from another player. Makes buying and selling easier.

    OP= Over Powered in game or Original Post(er) on the forums
