* Buy food from guild traders (use the menu on the right side and press r to do a search)

- Food increases your states and makes it easier to enjoy the content in the game

* Have fun! It's a big world out there

* Tanks please use a taunt
Arrgo fire, frost staff, puncture (shield and sword first skill)

Go slow, enjoy the game and all it offers. Don't feel you need to grind to catch up.

Relax, take it slow and enjoy your first months. Leave the builds, forums and meta alone for a while.

You only get one chance to really lose yourself in the game before you become focused on the mechanics, it's a much better game before that.

For your first playthrough, play however you want to play.

For your second, pick Sorcerer if you haven't done so for your first.

For Hard mode PvE, pick a Nightblade.

Read guides. Beginners guides are a good place to start. Read all of it so you're not a noob out there.

Use skills and make a decent levelling build.

DO NOT spam taunt if you're dps grouping with a tank

Dont grind to 160cp in one night. It kills the fun. Most stories are interesting and some even punish you for not paying attention.

If you plan to play more than 1 character, do all of them immediately, park them next to stable and give them some money for horse training. Train your horse (and do research) each day so their horses wont move like snails when you want to try them in action.

Single most important piece of advice I think: Take your time & read. Be it quest dialogue, tutorial hints, skill tool-tips, the <F1> Help Section, etc etc.
If you can be anything, be kind.

get a horse (10k), start your daily riding skill lines (250 gold/day), start with storage

buy bank/inven slots with gold, not through crown store

steal stuff from starter town, selling or laundering gets you legerdemain skill line improvement, at level 3 put 1 point into trafficker and then go large!

stuff you don't sell/launder should be provisioning bits, use the stolen bits to make meals which you can sell

be frustrated that you need more inven/bank space almost immediately

start researching blacksmithing/clothing/woodworking immediately (also invest in being able to do two of each at the same time)

don't 'care' about your gear, as soon as you get a better bit, swap it in even if ugly, you'll soon be swapping it out again.

while levelling have 5 pieces of your primary gear type heavy/medium/light plus one piece of the other two to help level those skill lines.

above all..... enjoy the journey, the stories and just have fun.

well it did say new players, at the beginning they've no achievements so pretty much no choice of colours.

should have added don't sell purple and especially the gold stuff to npc traders, keep and use or join a trade guild to sell for much $$$

Research crafting traits, even if you don't think you'll like crafting.

Learn how to steal and fence, it's a great quick way to raise money for a mount.

Train your mounts inventory, it's important.

When teleporting to a wayshrine run to the one nearest to you and click on it first, its a free teleport that way.

Don't mix your attributes between Stamina and Magicka, ...just dont.

That it outside of enjoy the game and try out various things.

This forum has lots of similarities with an elder scroll.
You get lots of knowledge but it require frequent sanity checks so the scrolls are safer,

    - Don't hoard low level gear in bank, start collecting it after you will hit level 50 & CP 160.
Either sell the gear or deconstruct / research at crafting stations.
    - Collect Provisioning crafting mats as the are all used for low & high level food / drinks.
    - Collect Alchemy crafting mats as the are all used for low & high level potions / poisons.
    - Don't store various crafting mats of the same type but of different "levels" in bank at the same time (example: Iron Ore & Ebony Ore)
    - Don't buy anything from merchants / guild traders until you will hit level 50 & CP 160. (most of crafting motives you will find by yourself and the ones that are rare and interest you the most you can always "look up" on the internet and buy them later.
    - Spend saved money to inventory / bank upgrade, mount and mount's "carrying capacity".
    - Ignore housing for now as it is nothing but a giant money sink.
    - At the beginning of the game try to collect as many skill points as you can. It takes a lot of time but it also makes your character progress faster later - because you can spend skill points on weapon skill so those can progress faster.
    - Don't buy Werewolf & Vampire bites from other players. They can do it for free (it costs nothing for them). Most of WTS Werewolf / WTS Vampire bites are just scammers and they will take your money away.
    - Focus your build either on magicka or stamina. "Hybrid builds are significantly weaker and require a lot of game mechanics knowledge.
    - Try to enjoy the game and don't play because "I must" xD
