I enjoyed ESO, for a time, but so many bugs, balance issues and other problems just hampered my overall enjoyment to a point I left back to FFXIV...

After playing action based MMOs I don't see how anyone can go back to mind numbing tab targeting. Especially one as slow as FFXIV.

I play on Xbox EU and gave been playing with the same group of people for almost 2 years now & our main goal was to finish VMOL as a group. Unfortunately is been broken as *** so we xant finish it so we're looking to move on to new games. So the community we've built through this game is the main reason I play. I talk to these guys more than I talk to my IRL friends. We talk about stuff that's going on in our lives that it's just easier to talk about online(less judgment). Our community, that's why still play this broken ass game.

I apologise in advance, but I kind of resent the "I liked Skyrim" answers. It's like there are a load of people in ESO that want it to be like the WORST entry in the TES series.

Skyrim was OK up to a point, but it was no Morrowind.

While I agree, in my opinion it was no Oblivion either

Let's compare something basic: Group Finder

In FFXIV, group finder goes off, everyone commences, dungeon starts, goes thru and clear, get our bonus and be on our merry way.

In ESO, group finder goes off, everyone commences, group disbands instantly with a 15 minute penalty added. Wait 15 minutes to try again, get ported into dungeon, instantly kicked out of the dungeon. Travel to dungeon manually, finish dungeon and no bonus. Time for a 3rd try at bonus. And then a 4th try. 5th times the charm? Nah, definitely the 6th time. Lucky number 7? Ok, screw it. I'm going to PvP. 10 minutes in and got killed by the load screen boss. Close App.

Yeah.........I play games to relax, not be a beta tester. It doesn't matter how much faster paced ESO is in comparison to FFXIV if I have to jump thru hops, sacrifice a goat and speak in tongues in order to actual make the game work.

You'll probably despise me then, because I loved Oblivion.

I got the game as a Christmas present with no expectations (had never heard of ES before) and was just floored by the immersion. I don't think I have ever played any game more than I played that one, and they will have to screw up pretty badly to make me stop loving the series.

This is a great question which lead me to pondering. Am I really that bored? Why torture myself with the constant 100ms latency and disconnects, when I can play literally any other online game I own, with no lag. It's a damned mystery.

Freedom and unique Elder Scrolls lore based on previous single player games.

Giving a golden shower to the Nord and Dunmer at Sejanus is ever so enjoyable, before getting murdered by these fiends and barbarians. Also, despite all the things that sadly went wrong ESO easily got the smoothest and most immersive world ive encountered in my gaming time.

For the relaxation and escapism. I enjoy sitting down at the PC with a glass of wine, (or double Vodka Martini if it was a really hard day), immersing into the environment, and killing really bad people (i.e. AD and DC) with a sword. :) The chat can be hilarious and the entertaining.

The game is constantly changing to keep it fresh and challenging. There is always someone to help the below average players like myself. And there is always something different to do for the few hours I spend each week in the game.

Does it have faults - yes. I haven't seen too many other games with the same visual quality and MMO aspects that this one has. This is a great game.

I play ESO because I have loved the series since my first dive into the world with Morrowind. The quests are amazing and as much as I enjoy FFXIV, the lack of PvP there is meh. I absolutely love this community. For the most part I've never really run into elitist jerks and the community and dev team seem to do what they think is right for the game and not just cater to the vocal few.

This is the first mmo that has held my attention away from WoW and the way they handle crafting and fishing is a big part to that. I appreciate the openness to play the way you want, even if people find the "cookie cutter" build. I'm excited for Morrowind and the future of this game. I'm in it for the long haul.

Because there is no TES6 yet. And Pantheon is not out yet and nobody knows how it will turn out once released. And for PvP there is no better game in this genre, not until Bannerlord comes out, and even that is not the same as it's team vs team and not 3 teams. And i am a masochist and i like getting my behind whooped in PvP.

Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

PS4 but it seems to be more of a case by case basis. I have all the luck of a Fish swimming in a burning barrel of oil and thus get every issue under the sun. Really ruined the experience for me. If ZOS ever fixes ESO to be a more polished and balanced game, I'd return in a heartbeat because I greatly enjoyed ESO's PvP but after years of seemingly little progress, I feel I'm better off playing FFXIV until that comes about, if it ever does.

Because the FFXIV servers were down for maintenance.

Ironic...because if you actually said something like that about ESO on their forums you would find your character deleted. Not bashing SE methods just pointing them out.
