Lack of forklifts

You notice those really large crates? The ones you find on docks, in dungeons, ruins, etc. The ones you can never open. Those are so big they need forklifts to put into place.
So. Why do we never find forklifts? What is the story there?

    Before forklifts they used a Boon and rope on pulleys . You can spot them in some areas .
