Do I need, or should I get Morrowind?

I am curious if I should be getting Morrowind when it releases. I guess the question isn't should I get it because I do want it, but I mean since I seem not to play the game properly and have restarted again after a long absence and I just hit level 20 with my Altmer Mage and just did 2 or 3 quests in Grathwood (spelling?) my question is, should I get Morrowind or should I still play throught regular ESO. If so, when would a good time to get Morrowind then?

Or would it be good to get Morrowind now and this way since I only play single player (can't figure out how to do dungeons since it doesn't seem to work for me and I never get an answer when I que up) what benefit would I get besides trying a new character class (never tried the other 3 yet) and seeing the land I loved when playing Morrowind all the years ago.

Just curious if I should get Morrowind now or wait till later.

    Depends on if you:
    - Want to create a new Warden now instead of playing your lvl 20 char
    - Are eager to explore Vvardenfell ASAP

If yes, then buy it now. If no, wait and play through the base game content. They will likely do a sale on a later date (maybe Black Friday).

P.S. Join a player guild and ask for help to run some dungeons. You get skill points for beating the dungeon stories.

Morriwind will give you new class and battlegrounds which only you can answer as to wanting it or not. There is plenty for you to do still without Morriwind based on your post. Really unless either the warden class or battlegrounds are a must have for yourself there is no hurry. From your description I would suggest finding a good guild to join would be more of a priority then morriwind

Thanks for the comments guys. So I take it that I won't really be missing anything then without Morrowind. So there are no new skills or spells for other races then. So it's just a new character to play and new land mass to explore.

Great to know I won't be missing out if I don't get it.

Thank you again. I guess it will come down to seeing they hype and if I need to relive the nostalgia of Morrowind.

If you played the original Morrowind, the expansion is a massive nostalgia hit. Vvardenfell also one of the weirdest parts of Tamriel, so if you ever look at ESO, and say, "this is too close to a normal fantasy setting for me, I need something stranger to keep my attention," then, yeah, Morrowind is probably a good purchase.

It is also more content. But, if you're not worried about burning through stuff, then it is something you can stick a pin in and come back to later.

The other big draw is a new class. If you're wanting to run a druid/ranger style nature mage, then that's what the Warden offers. If you don't, then (obviously), that's going to be a less appealing option.

No reason to buy it if you don't have atleast one maxed out character and passed all the available content like dungeons, trials etc... Till you get to play Morrowind seriously it will go on sale for 10$.

Right now it's going to be huge beta testing. The forums will wxplode from "im leaving the game" and "fix it zos!"

    Do you NEED it? No.

Should you get it? Yes. It expands on the Main Story Quest of ES:O as well as giving you a large new land to explore and quest through, and also new content such as small scale PvP Arena style gameplay, a new 12 person Trial, new armor sets, new crafting style, and other new aesthetics.

    But do you want it?

There will likely be some really pretty furniture you'll want out of Morrowind, if you are a housing type person. But at level 20, you probably don't have nearly the mats or crafting skill needed to make it yet anyway.

I strongly recommend you to buy the chapter and start playing Morrowind quest line if money is not a problem.

    Here is why:
    - all community will talk Morrowind - and you want to be part of community and understand what they are talking about.
    - you will do new content and you will not have the feeling that you are doing some outdated quest line
    - you will meet new friends and Morrowind will be an actual subject to talk about.
    - you will find dungeons groups much faster for Morrowind content.

If non of the above is not important to you then you don't need Morrowind - ESO has hundreds of hours of content already.

If you like questing, then you should look at getting Morrowind eventually.

I have to suggest though, that you look for a guild to join. It will really increase the mileage this game has for you. Soloing everything is fine up to a point, but it's an MMO and if you don't find a decent guild where you can find people to chat to and run group content, then you're missing out on a load of stuff such as finding people to group with to do dungeons etc, and the wider social aspect of the game. I suspect ESO could be quite a lonely experience if you don't seek out any community within it.

Wow great comments everyone. I think I might get it now just for the nostalgia hit and just traverse and wonder around. Only done the the Altmer maps. (sorry forgot what they are called) and a bit of Ornissuim. (spelling?)

While I don't really care for the new class someone got me thinking. Could I play a Strider or Ranger character with the new class? At first I thought summoning bears wasn't the way to go, but who said I needed to use a bear?

So will see if I can pre order the collector's edition and reserve a copy when it comes out. Thank you again everyone. It's nice to know that we don't need it, but could want it. Since I am having a blast again playing ESO with my restarted character again I think I would love travelling through Vvardenfall again.

Thank you all again for your help. So much greatly appreciated.

There are various things that would suit a warden - I am going to start a Breton Wyress character on Monday (or at whatever time/day the servers come back online after the update :D )

You already know the answer to your own question.

We all know that you will get Morrowind anyway :)
