Pets in Dungeons and Trials

I heard that sorc pets are typically hated when summoned in dungeons and trials. Is this true? I've heard that they end up aggroing everything but why does that matter? All enemies get aggroed when damaged and target the damager until taunted. Can pets somehow override taunts, or is there another reason why sorcs don't wanna run necropotence in dungeons and trials?

Only real problem is they can die to some boss mechanics easily, but most of the pet hate is totally unfounded. They don't aggro anything on their own. They don't steal heals or buffs from other players who should have gotten them. The one annoying thing they can do is grab a mob in a trash pull and keep it from joining the pack getting aoe'd around the tank.

Most pet hate is because for two years they had very limited use. Only recently have they been buffed to the point of participation.

I run clannfear and matriarch and normally solo with my own little summoned posse. The other day I was tagging along with a gaggle of about 5 other players through a public dungeon and tried to pay attention to any probs my pets were causing. The matriarch was no problem at all - in fact her potent heals helped other players numerous times. The clannfear was my concern but he also caused no problems. I will admit with multiple players the clannfear was not much help as there were other players to distract my targets, but the point is, he caused no problems at all.
PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo

The Sorc pet Volatile Familiar is very strong. Casuals will use the other pets, but serious players will only use the familiar. It is perfectly fine to use in dungeons and does very well. However, you have to be careful of your pet aggroing mobs if your dungeon group is trying to sneak past mobs and not attack them.

Tanks hate when they stun and make the enemy immune to taunting. Also, they tend to randomly pull aggro- even the scamp.

For boss fights, replace scamp with aegis or daedric tomb front bar (seriously) and another inner light backbar. Especially when tight stacking on sanctum hard mode boss the tomb is spammable and pretty ridiculous.

The scamp has literally saved the day when tank is down, and wiped the group when it pulls aggro from my experiences lol.

But that dps is crazy so just do it anyways unless you are going for leaderboard runs.
Message me if you want to do trials/dungeons, or need a trading guild! Flawless conqueror magsorc with a bad sense of armor fashion.
