Thoughts on very unusual build for Warden

My idea, which would probably be extremely difficult to come up with, is:

Sword and Shield/ Resto staff hybrid warden...

How should I go about this?

I'm thinking that Shacklebreaker would incorporate into this fairly well.
and the race would be Argonian or Orc (one focuses mostly on healing while the other focuses mostly on dps)

I already understand that Sword and Shield builds are lower DPS, but this is theory crafting

No reason to use a shield unless you're tanking.

Depends on what you want out of the build. Or specifically what you want out of the Sword and shield. If the intent is to do dps, then both of these weapons are definitely not optimal. But if you are looking into making a sort of hybrid that can heal and deal, hold its own against world bosses or for being the support class, then it is possible.

An Argonian magicka warden with s/s and resto can be a tremendous tank / heal char. I have something in mind if you want to go crazy. Rattle cage with Sanctuary with troll King.

What is the goal of the build? What should be its playstyle and what are you going to do with sustain.
I have also idea of unusual warden build (stam tank-heal with some dps) but i know how it should be played and sustained.

I want to be more on the DPS side of things. I've been playing for 3 years and know very well how a sword and shield is a terrible choice for dps, and with the CP changes, my resources will not do as well. I mainly play PvP (non-cp) and do PvE dungeons every so often. I expect to be doing dungeons a lot on the warden to level up those undaunted passives. Even so, it will not be the first time I run a sword and board mainhand dps build

What I might do instead of Knight-Errant is:

    Automaton/Hundings
    Troll King
    Bone Pirate

    S/B main
    Resto/Destro staff offhand

with all armor glyphs being Tri-glyph

If that doesn't work out well, I'll resort to using a bow instead of resto/destro staff

SnB and resto is a fine choice, but why even go hybrid? You could just go magicka

I have to agree with this. Magicka warden has better tools imo for sustain and dps. Thats what as far as I can tell from my experience using the warden.

Stick to normal and you can set up however you like, I used to be a full on vet min maxer until I realised I just didn't enjoy it, the freedom of the lower difficulties was too alluring

One of my favourite charecters is a dk dps with great sword / sword and shield, in normal dungeons in medium gear spacing for weapon damage and crit she will casually out perform most other dps while using the shield, the down side some would say is that she is stuck in normal but for me I say why chase vet gear just so you can do more vet content that can be played on normal anyway, I'm hear for stories and fun, the rest is for other people :)

In my Stamplar, I can be the "tank" and also be the DPS-er with my sword and Shield/ bow build. I also do well in dungeons with my hybrid 2h sword and destro DK

As fo PvP it will make sense but I don't see any profit of being hybrid. It's better to go magicka (with 1H&s/resto) or stamina (with frost/bow or frost/2H).
As for PvE your group will not be happy with 1h&s+resto DPS, but you can go as tank (but there's also no sense to go hybrid).

Totally, but that Ice Furnace set could be used in this aspect too, allowing me to deal a tad extra damage with those frost abilities (5 piece: When you deal direct damage with a Frost Damage ability, you have a 50% chance to deal an additional 1046 Flame Damage to all enemies within 8 meters around the initial target. This effect can occur once every 1 second)

Still ineffective. It's better to focus gear on weapon dmg and stamina regen, frost staff allow you to block using magicka (and blocking magika regen only) you also can regain magika back with manasteal even permablocking while you atack with your stamina abilities. And you also can freely spend stamina for bashing and rolling (and even healing as warden has class stamina heal). So if you have high stam regen you can spam heals, attacks, bash and roll, while blocking without hard problems with sustain. It's like tanking with 1H&s and magicka build (but allows more option for bashing and rolling).

Why would you need resto staff on a warden? Just go with green balance skills.

I think shacklebreaker will be a nice set hard part with that set is finding crit if your trying to do any DPS on the PVE side of things.

I went with resto staff for that healing ward ability. It helps out in terms of survivability in PvP. Although, it probably would work best with another damage shield, it usually takes 4-5 people to take me out, or 1 ganker knocking me off my horse - which needs food

I read you wanted to go more DPS, but this setup is exactly what I use on my magden healer in PvP. Truthfully I put out close to 0 DPS, since its not my focus, but I can tell you the survivability and ability to provide group benefits will be second to none.

I would imagine you may still be able to get some decent DPS, but it would hinge on using class abilities, and having the S&B in a set that boosts damage in some fashion. Would be fun to see what you ultimately come up with!

You can back-bar resto on Stamina Warden for the ultimate just fine, you have expedition from the wings if you can fit it in so bow isn't needed

Yep, so i am currently running around with shacklebreaker and knight-errant. It is giving me good enough dps (despite all the crap people give knight errant.

The problem is, I think my character has too much health and not quite enough stam/magicka (blame knight'errant jewels)
