Is there any point to a home once you've finished it?

Hi everyone.

So I've got the free room, and a couple of items but I don't really see the point of having a home. You don't need a bed, and I don't think you can store items in chests and such can you? Can you display trophies or weapons ect? Does anyone actually go back to their home once they've finished it and got it the way they want it? What for?

Thanks everyone.

    A couple of things.
    • A free teleport location.
    • You can get crafting stations, including ones that are attuned to sets. (So you can get crafting stations to make something like Hunding's Rage. The real payoff here is the IC sets. It can also be useful to keep access to DLC crafted sets after you've let your ESO+ sub lapse.)
    • There are trophies for every vet dungeon.
    • There are trophies for some achievements, though you need to buy those.
    • Three of the locations come with titles. (Lord/Lady, Councilor, and Clan Mother/Clan Father.) Collecting all three titles gets you the Count/Countess title.

Free wayshrines, which are particularly useful when you first start a new character and don't have access to every province yet. I hope to one day have a home in every area. I just bought the one in Rivenspire a few days ago.
Also, you can buy crafting stations by doing master writs, which you can then put in the home. It just makes things a little more convenient.

Probably worth adding to this that, you can in fact travel to every zone fairly quickly now, and unlock them if you want. One Tamriel added "Navagator" NPCs in each zone, which can take you to other zones with a specific pattern.

Navagators will access the previous, and next zone, in your current alliance, and access the equivalent zones in the other alliances.

    Zones progress like this:

    Pact: Stonefalls/Deshaan/Shadowfen/Eastmarch/The Rift
    Covenant: Glenumbra/Stormhaven/Rivenspire/The Alik'r/Bangkorai
    Dominion: Auridon/Grahtwood/Greenshade/Malabal Tor/Reaper's March

So, if you're in Wayrest (Stormhaven), you can book passage from the navagator to Glenumbra, Rivenspire, Grahtwood, or Deshaan. If you're at one end of the chain it does loop around, so you can get immediate travel from Glenumbra to Bangkorai via the navigator in Daggerfall.

It makes getting around the map, on low level characters, much easier.

Now that I've bought a DPS Test Dummy, I go back time to time to see how well my characters do. Then that usually gives me a reason to also take a quick look around again. I have a little campfire set up in the front yard of Autumn's Gate complete with two stools and my Dire Wolf Mount basking in the heat, large trees giving somewhat of a canopy overhead.

Indoors since my characters are Khajiit I've given it a few Khajiiti styled decor such as a Crescent Moon rug, and the Painting of Reaper's March, with the Golden Retriever pet standing near the fireplace.

It's totally not worth anything of practical note, besides the Test Dummy. But it is kind of neat..

Target skeletons. It's such a stupidly amazing feature that has helped countless amounts of people, like me, perfect their rotations. Personally, I loved it for the fact that I could do it alone, and you don't really need a tank or a healer for it.

It's more than just being able to see your numbers increase, too. Personally, I spent many nights just hanging on the dummies, and it did more than just increase my dps: it gave me the confidence to be fine doing dps tests and stuff. I was always anxious when it came to that crap and avoided it as much as possible, and so I just stuck to healing.

. The biggest barrier that people get caught up in nowadays is that you have to apply your own ele, and/or you won't be provided with the correct buffs that a particular guild will provide for it, etc. Which I can understand, but you gotta look at the big picture and not the just the number that pops up on the screen. You'll eventually know when and what you screwed up on, and that's the idea behind it. As I like to say: It's the players, not the gear that put up the scores. It only helps you get there.

Anyways, enough of the positivity, i heard it's frowned upon here.

A lot of my homes I bought because they are near my favorite thieving & harvesting spots. The one in Rivenspire is especially handy because if I end up with a bounty, I can teleport there and then harvest for awhile (without guards around) until my bounty is gone.

I'm also enjoying decorating them, one home at a time.

It's a safe haven when you have a high bounty. I have all the crafting stations in my home and a dps dummy. When I have a high bounty, I go there and do my crafting, make my potions, make food, whatever needs to be done. I, also, have my merchant and my banker there so I can unload my inventory without having to go into town and encounter the guards.

    Well,

-it's fun decorating your home especially with achievements,
-you can also host guild events in there like auctions or tournaments.
-crafting stations like the guys above said
    -target skeleton for dps test

-They should also introduce a "well rested" buff like when you sleep/log out in your own bed you get a small increase in exp gain or even stats for 24 hours or something.
-would be nice to be able to store items in chests too.

Is there any point in becoming Emperor, become a Master Angler, or achieve 'Stormproof'?

For crying out loud, just ignore housing if you don't like it and do your own thing - it's not like you had to pay extra for it.

I'd love it if your offline characters could be placed in homes, (or even if they just hung around in a house when you logged out from it on them).

I just wish I could sleep in bed to gain a buff. Not as good as a food buff but good enough to make me travel to my house once in a while.
