Healing wands

Healers are bit handicapped when it comes to gear sets because the only weapon a healer can use is a two-handed staff. This means that a proper healer cannot utilize two 5-piece sets plus a monster set, like everyone else gets to. It would be really nice if there were healing wands (or rods or scepters) that would allow use of the restoration tree and also allow use of another piece of gear (shield, book, orb?) in the off-hand slot. That way healers could get the full 12-piece gear array.

Anyone agree?

Sure why not, but not sure it's not self inflicted handicap. You don't have to wear two sets. You chose to do so.

The monster sets are good for people running anything around four people. Yes that means stamina me monster set and other things aren't suitable for trials, so we got to Master staff after all (ugly staff).

Building a healer goes like this

    One support set
    One set for better heals
One monster to supplant why you are missing

Mind you I support creation of books maybe they just give set bonus and not stats.

"Everyone else" includes strictly DW and s&b users in this context though. For a healer it's actually less of an issue because there're no great healing monster pieces anyway.

Now whether or not there should be a way to utilize 5+5+2 setup for every two handed weapon user...I think it'd be awesome but then it'd also be indirect buff to magicka dps who already are much stronger than stamina in PvE so I guess it's complicated. Plus adding new items brings in a whole lot of new problems -we'd have to research traits for those too, etc.

    Yup.

Also for magicka tanks. 1h wand + ward/totem/talisman would work much better than 2h ice staff with slows and snares.

This (or a variation of this) thread pops up on a semi-regular basis.

The basic request is for two handed weapons (of all types) to be counted as two items for a set.

I seem to recall one forum poster saying no...but I never understood their reasoning (assuming some was supplied).

Id rather have 2 handed weapons count as 2 pieces of a set.

The reasoning is very simple. ZOS doesn't invision 5/5/2 as a BiS setup. Malestrom and Master's weapons are in the game for a reason. Take a look at any top-end PvE build. It's mostly 5/3/2/1 or 5/3(4)/2/1(0) setups. Mostly healers actually run 5/5/1 with Master's Resto or only one monster piece. The same can be applied to PvP.

The only exception for 5/5/2 being BiS is tanking. This mostly happens because players and ZOS design tanks with a very different place in mind. ZOS keeps on throwing defensive sets out and trying to force players to invest in resistances and selfheals and players prefer tanks with minimal required resistances and everything else dedicated to group support. If vMA sword gave a nice armor debuff instead of a useless selfheal most tanks would've left 5/5/2 behind.

I heard some rumours (I heard it was confirmed but I am not entirely sure) that with Morrowind patch 2-handed weapon will count as 2 - set bonus.
If someone knows more about it and can confirm / not confirm this please do.
