Fiskerton✭✭✭FF14 has a 2.5s GCD. If you can stand that, go play it.
if you want a more traditional MMO, you can try Rift.
if you want something with a bit more fluid combat, but still follows the MMO formula, you can try Wildstar4 -
OtherDidn't really specify at what, one or the other is better at. So I say those skimpy bikinis at my local beach, are better.2 -

✭FFXIVAre we talking game stablity? Bugs? Broken Trials? Then FF wins hands down, it is a much more polish and complete game.

ral✭✭✭FFXIVbeen playing eso for 2 years almost 3 now. Master crafter, have the skin, farmed maelstrom. Nothing much to do anymore but doing daily writs and pvp. Dungeons is just useless now since I already have all the monster sets in the right trait with left over keys. Now logging in feels like a chore. And when I pvp I'm always saying to myself what's the point? I'm not having fun like I used to when I was a scrub. Giving ff 14 in some random day was the best decision ever. The game have so much to offer than what eso can do. So many more classes. So much more to do in the game. Very good dungeon finder system. While you que for a dungeon you can go do other things while waiting cause they actually tell you what number you are in the waiting list. So much more to explain but that's not the topic here. I'm still a sub for eso cause I love to support eso hoping for better future content. But for now, I'm enjoying ff 14 a lot more.9

The graphics on ultra in FF looks cheap compared to ESO on ultra.
The hud has a huge target marker icon over the heads of NPCs in combat, and one can't disable it or reduce its size.
The combat mechanics is the worst I've seen compared to GW2, SWTOR and ESO.
And locating stuff on the map is so difficult that I've not figured it out yet.
Many of the creatures in FF are just cheesy.
Finally, it has no voice acting.
Maybe FF got better storylines though.11 -

The type of graphics ff has is way different that of eso. You will later find out that eso feels very cheap in content vs ff 14. Unlike eso where the ads are weak you will notice that ads are strong and requires you to actually pay attention. Combat wise it's very overwhelming at first. But once you realize and grasp the idea behind it, it opens up whole new world to you in comparison to eso. You can setup macros for your skills. Have buff trackers. All classes are unique and you actually use unique skills instead of using shared weapon skills we have here in eso. The story mode is so vast and get so much into detail that don't use voice over in important scenes. Yes it does have voice over. Story wise it ALOT better than eso. After beating realm reborn you will have excess to heavensward. Where you can train your mount to fly. A very neat feature. You can train your mount to be healer, tank or dps. So much to explain the good things ff 14 has vs eso but no point. I love both games and understand the ups and downs of each game.

I will like to enjoy FF, since I've purchased it, but so far the ugly target marker icon is a deal breaker, the last nail in the coffin, since there are so many other excellent games I can play instead, which means that FF doesn't have the margins on its side, imo, but if you can present good things about FF which outweigh the disadvantages I mentioned in my post above, then I'm more than happy to change my mind atbout FF.

Weird that never bothered me when I first played it lol. Are zooming in too close? You might need to zoom out all the way out so the marker doesn't look as big. Also you will find out why it's important for the marker to be visible. The classes have a lot of different animations. Which will cover the targets and you will have a hard time seeing who you are targeting if it's small.0 -

This forum has made it a hobby to whine about ESO, so I think many of us are pretty neutral. Most of us will start to play other games the moment we find a mmo with better graphics, combat mechanics, general performance, and richness in the storylines.

I can see some not liking it. But that's the same as leveling up a new class in eso with only scrub abilities lol. If you unlock the final tier for your class in ff 14 you will see the art behind the combat system. Also monk is very fast pace with its continuous form changes and combos.2
