✭try to increase your LUA settings in usersettings.txt
Remove, grass and water reflection, and turn down shadow from video settings. (but keep high quality, else it'll look like captain comic... well... uhm, it'll just look bad). You might want to fine tune subsampling too.
Oh, and after each major update, you will have to do more tuning.
