6000 crowns (4 moths of subscription) for motif which is cheap as hell in guild stores and useless as long there won't be gear restyling option.

They are rising prices over and over. I think in the future all crown store items will be so expensive, that nobody will buy them anymore. I still remember when I started playing this game and crown store items had really nice prices. Now it's just ridiculous.

Selling the same old and overpriced sh*t all the time. Good job ZOS. :/

It use to be respectable.. now it's pretty disgusting.

    I honestly don't get the Moral Outrage™.

It's a useless item for a stupid price. Sign of bad marketing? Sure. Sign of "moral bankruptcy"? Wat.

Ignore it, it'll go away, and their marketers will have a good data point for "well, that didn't work."

Yeah, but that is only if it doesn't work. My guess, it is working.

Still regretting paying 5k crowns for the glass motif way back in the day (especially considering I have like a thousand of those stupid fragments now). This is all my fault...

Only one solution. If you dont like the price, simply dont buy it. As long as people buy, prices will continue to steadily rise.

    stop being greedy ZOS!!
You know, I'm getting pretty sick and tired of seeing this as the instant go-to knee jerk reply to things like this.

A COMPANY WHICH DROPPED ITS SUBSCRIPTION MODEL ISN'T A DEFINITION OF GREEDY!

Especially when we consider how many people are playing this game without spending a dime after the game purchase.

OF COURSE ZoS is going to focus on trying to earn revenue from direct sale purchases. OF COURSE ZoS is going to mark prices up to increase revenue.

FOR EVERY PERSON OUT THERE SUBBING AT THEIR $15/MO PROBABLY COVERS THE COST OF 10 PEOPLE WHO DON'T.

Want ZoS to stop "being greedy"? Try asking them to restore the sub requirement.

This benefits everyone except the cheapskates. Once implemented, they'll leave, which brings stability to a game that's overpopulated and the developers can spend time working on the game, rather than wasted efforts of trying to push product to generate revenue.

    Greedy. Get a damn clue.

With this price you should be able to morph dropped sets into the style of the motif, or something. *** is usually beyond a few crafted sets and master writs... Play your game ZOS.

My favorite motif, but I REFUSE to buy it until they release some better crafted sets!

Even if crafting was cranked up to what you'd want it to be and more, would you actually pay 6k crowns for a motif that you can get very cheaply in-game?

That depends on how much the whole motif costs in gold, not just a page here and there. I'm obsessive about having the whole motif :)

I'm pretty sure ZOS relies on people who don't know current prices or even how to use guild traders to sell their motifs.

This is totally true... and there is a word for it too.... EXPLOITATION!!

It's disgusting and despicable behaviour from a company losing the faith of its most loyal members...

For the record, if anyone needs the Celestial motifs i'm happy to help them farm it - do NOT pay 6k crowns for it. I've got a few spare too.

I've said it 100 times now - they are going to keep increasing the price of crown store items until they find the ceiling.

I'ts not about morality, ethics, or anything else. It's about maximizing profit and finding out what the market will bear. Once they find the upper limit, they will back it down to that number.

As long as people buy at the price asked, it will keep increasing. This one may have found that limit though. This one is kinda stupid. Now if it was "Ra Gada", or "Akaviri" that would be of value.

Not only can you have all the motif pages in a couple of trial runs. You can buy the pages for 2-4K/each.

Like how dumb is this company really
That depends, if they're making sales regardless of how easy things are to get. Is it really dumb to cash in on peoples ignorance?

    Immoral maybe, but dumb, no.

Boy I need you to agree with me sometimes lol!

I think they would most likely double their profit if they cut that price in half.
@andreasranasen well here you go, I agree with that.

Their pricing has for a long time been stupid and they rely too much on the deep pockets impulse buyers rather than multiple sales to less fortunate players.

    6000 crowns.....lol Seriously?

It'll continue to go up in price until suddenly people will no longer buy it. Considering what the houses are going for, and that people still buy them, it will be a while before that happens.

Or would you have bought the Celestial motif for 5k? 4k? 3k? If no, they why do you care at all that they gave it a stupid price?

I honestly don't understand why things that mean so little, cause such strong emotions in people. It's baffling.

    .

I would have paid 1K or 2K max for the motif considering its basically useless since you cant even wear the crafted gear except for roleplaying.

I think that some people are missing the point. They are not looking to sell mass numbers of these items. Seriously. If they wanted to sell to the "less fortunate players" these items would be priced that way. They have had plenty of experience with pricing in the Crown Store over the last two years. It is not that they are "stupid", or "dumb", or out of touch with the players. Not at all. These things are priced exactly where they want them to be, and they are fully aware that not everyone is going to be buying.

Maybe the price is a deterrent and they actually want people to earn the Motifs in game. You will notice the huge price difference between the ones that can be earned in game such as this, and the ones that cannot such as Stalhrim Frostcaster.

Agreed. I love how everyone is under the impression that they have no clue what they are doing.

I submit that they know EXACTLY what they are doing and I further it by saying that they know much more about what they are doing than we do.

I would guess people have such strong feelings about it because its such a blatant rip-off, I get that ZOS needs to make money but for me 6k crowns would be like £35 or something like that of real world money, I paid around £40 for the game shortly after release and £30 for morrowind which shows just how much of a rip-off crown store items really are. I mean think of all the stuff included in the base game and if you were to work out how much real world money you paid for a single crafting motif from the cost of the game it probably wouldn't even be 1p.

although to be honest I don't really care one way or another as to me that motif looks like crap

Really dont like the limited availability to be so short.
Not for this specific item since i am not interested but its a cheap tactic to get a few more sales from impulse buyers.

Yes, that annoys me more then the price tag for some reason haha

You need Ra Gada?? Probably the easiest of ALL the motifs in the game to farm. Skyreach Catacombs chest has a big chance to drop (as do all the bosses in there). When running people through that to help them level I would get a motif every other run ;)

It's not worth 6k... and Akaviri isn't tough anymore either. AP is fairly easy to farm :)

Yeah, I don't farm or grind much - that's my problem. I got a bunch of missing pieces during the anniversary event, but even with 6 crafters pushing I came up short on those two. I only have one crafter that I bother to fill out the motifs and sell off everything else

They are missing a good opportunity by not making the crown store motifs as account wide (so future characters we made also benefit from having it already learned). The price they ask is far more than justifiable if that were the case.

People should stop thinking that ZOS/Bethesda is trying to make millions selling this motif, and failing miserably because they just can't seem to get the price right. ZOS is clearly not looking to maximize revenue selling this motif.

I personally like it, when I see those overpriced items in crown store I'm happy that I got some of them without any crowns but by playing game. Leave them where they are and don't complain, please. Don't buy if you don't want to. These overpriced items play a significant role in the game, at least for me, I like to watch expensive stuff from distance when they stay out of my reach. And if someone buys it, mind your own business :).
