✭On a few occasions, I was razzed for jumping in on somebody's else fight. I usually only jump in when I feel someone is in trouble. Yeah, yeah.. so if you die, you can respawn, but it is the principle of someone dying in a fight. It is just common nature (of good people, I guess) to want to help when someone is seemingly in trouble. One time (at band camp.. ha ha), a dude was fighting about 8-10 adds and seeing his hp depleting, I jumped in to assist. After it was said and done, the dude (sorc) shot his bolt at me and says on text, "Hey, go get your own xp." Ha ha.. really. Another occasion, I jumped in at a world boss where there was only one dude there. He began screaming for me to back off cause he wanted to solo that boss. Got it.. cool, no problem, but then he began to rant on zone text chats that he hates everybody cause we kept on jumping in and disruption his solo greatness feat. Ha ha.5 -

They probably think it's something like Black Desert where only one player will get XP from killing a mob.

I would generally grind elsewhere/a different part of a given spot if somebody was already there. If they still got whiny and said to leave, I'd drop whatever i was doing/whatever goal i had to do my absolute best to shut them out. (I haven't had to grind anything in a long time, but that was still fun to do none the less if they felt the need to be a child about the situation)
People get so sh***y and irrational b/c they're in a rush to hit that next character/skill level. Even so, it's fair game unless it specifically has his name on it. Right. I had that experience with someone before. The idea there is that this is their territory and no one else is allowed to play it. Some do get pretty frumpy. Lol!

Then on a different day you leave someone alone and they die. And rant at you about not helping your fellow player. The moral: You'll never be right, so be wrong in the way that is most fun for you

I do think you need to account for how much in-game information there is about how XP is awarded/shared/calculated.
Should that be something where outside research is absolutely necessary?
If the game doesn't explain it, and there is no "universal standard" the game uses, I don't think it's unreasonable that a player would make assumptions.
However, that doesn't justify reporting and death threats. On a fundamental level, you can't really play an open-world game and get upset when others are using your little slice of that same world.0 -
