They are so weak now.. you can go in that fightnow with out weapons and punch him to death.. No joke sadly

Of course it is. That's completely impossible. And guys, he said he was having trouble and hasn't played in some time. He doesn't have all the stuff that gives him the Immortal Iron Fist (bah, I liked it for the most part). If you get unlucky, companions adopting some stupid AI subroutine, as npcs love to do at times. If I remember correctly, I would wait until the companions had locked on to the summoned whatevers, then go for Manni. I'm not sure but I thought this was the one where he's somewhat invincible every few health loses and summons a zombie or skeleton or something. If you see a red circle start, just move in any direction away, doesn't have to be a roll. And the other stuff I said before about health buffs and potions. Pray to rngsus and hopefully all will go well. But these guys didn't beat him with a punch.

Did the main quest content get nerfed? I feel I could have heavy-attacked Mannimarco to death. I would have loved for that fight to be some kind of Dark Souls-style test of my abilities -- that would have felt like a much more satisfying climax of the story. Instead, I had my immersion completely broken when Mannimarco died before I could even complete a full rotation.

    Was this fight previously harder?

A lot. Also the Companions and other NPCs didn't take aggro. They very occasionally, if left totally alone, would get beaten on until they kind of leaned over and huffed and puffed after their tiny health pool got whacked down, and then the mobs would come looking for you.

To be honest, I almost rage quit at a much earlier stage than the Mannimarco fight. I was level 50, and no matter what I do, I cannot defeat the two guys is the building when you're going to go get Sol Stein (or whatever his name is). For me, I realized I am never going to be able to get past Soul Magic level 2 because I'm just stuck there at that mission. I suspect that this fight is a lot easier for templar, but my DK dies EVERYTIME in this fight.
    Clueless, but willing to learn.

Since one tamriel is doesn't matter what level you are. 10,20, cp 160. it's pretty much the same. Just comes down to your skills and your skill.
