Miat Add On? (stealth detection)

Wasn't this addon removed or something or banned at some point cause I am seeing it on the esoui site
and in pvp I been seeing alot of people moving towards me while I was in stealth, pointing at me or light attacking right at my direction when they never seen me. and I was on my magicka sorc.

It can't detect people in stealth anymore but someone must have seen you go into stealth or they where using a Detect Pot

No, They haven't seen me. Nor were they using any kind of detection potion.
I'd even be maybe 50-100 meters away. They are heading 1 direction and then instantly turn heading straight for me when I was remained in stealth and I would activate the invisibility potion so I don't get undetected and they went flying off a cliff. and that isn't the only time something like that has ever happened.

It wasn't banned, it was rendered useless because ZOS changed the API. They must have seen you go invis.

People still use Miats for other reasons, but it's stealth feature no longer works.

Someone suggested I was using this and not thinking I had already seen them slink into stealth.
I do use Miat, it also provides useful map information. I can't say it ever warned me of an oncoming attack. It does show who attacked me post damage. Apparently I'm doing it wrong and it provides more warning. Hearsay.

Mage light and waiting to block the opener when they pop into range normally changes NB's plans, anyone harassed by NB's try's to defend themselves against them. I've even brewed a poison to keep them exposed for 5.5 seconds.. if I get lucky.

Since ZOS can't ban add-ons Miats add-on is still allowed in game.

Miat decided that stealth and ganking was over-powered and decided to balance the game himself. Since ZOS doesn't do anything to anyone that alters the game, either in authorized ways (case in point) or even in unauthorized ones (not the case here), Miats add-on is de-facto approved by ZOS and becomes part of the meta.

Since the Development team appears to be both incompetent and clueless when it comes to balance, perhaps we should direct our game balance concerns to Miat instead, since he actually does have the ability to alter the game and ZOS allows it.

You guys are foolish. There are people that have add ons that make Miats look like a third grader but since you went ape dung they don't put them out for the rest of the peeps.

LOL you are pretending that all of these people would eagerly give up their exclusive competitive advantages over other players if there was no backlash.

There is plenty of "secret information" in this game. This is one of the least transparent games I've ever played. Ofc people have abusive add-ons but the uproar over Miats isn't why they don't reveal them. They don't reveal them because they enjoy having competitive advantage over other players that they can claim is just skill.

Add-ons can basically only use the information the game API provides them so they cannot be banned or similar. If some stupid information is provided that should not be then the developers just remove this from the API and the add-ons will not be able to use the information anymore.

Hacks then are another thing that use eg. the game data transfer reading it from memory and using it or even modifying it.

I dueled someone earlier who did watch me stealth moved in a half circle away while he stood there then headed straight for my position. I'm just assuming it don't work since it was a nightblade so the usual.

Indeed the stealth detection of the addon doesn't work anymore after the API changes in Homestead, and on top of that it never worked this way, it couldn't ever reveal the location of stealthed players, just that there may have been some around because they entered stealth around you, or initiate a skill or a heavy attack on you, from stealth.

But as I said, it no longer does any of that, since ZOS blocked access to any of those events relating to stealth for enemy players.

However there have been exploits in the API that some others have probably leveraged for non-public addons, or even bugs in the game, etc. Miat's addon never used any of these, even though the author knew how, and was always completely legitimate. ZOS just decided that it didn't want people accessing those particular events anymore, so they changed things.

So other than the enemy('s group) using stealth detection potions and what not, it could be some form of actual cheat or bug, which Miat's addon never was.

They are just using cheats or addons that access the private api. ZOS is pretty awful with dealing with cheats so don't wait for a fix, OP.

Yeah why not, it's always good when a single person's opinion of what is balance, honorable game play, overpower and so on sets the standards...

Unfortunate that a kid that has been ganked a little too much and can not cope with the fact that Cyrodiil is an open play-as-you want battlefield has scripting skills.

Cheating is as old as gaming itself. Today whole companies make a not too bad living selling their programs to people who want to cheat. Blizzard recently won a lawsuit against a Germany based company that sold cheat addons for BDO. Reparations were in the million $ range. Gives a small glimpse on how huge that market is. It will always be a part of any gaming as its human nature.

Edit: Not saying Miat's addon is cheating. Actually I couldn't care less about it. Programs like cheat engine are where the music plays.

It does, (at least as of yesterday when I played), still notify you when there is an enemy player in your vicinity, but does not "show" you exactly where they are at. So it gives you a heads up to throw up a block or at the very least get off your mount before you get ganked.

There's another addon separate from Miat's that actually advertises people's position in stealth with their name slapped on thin air.

I cannot begin to remember the name of that blasted thing but it exists I can assure you. Just look around the world wide web.
