Is it worth upgrading psijic recipe to mythic?

When I mean worth it, I mean in terms of making money and overall usefulness for leveling up. I feel like aetherial dust drops too rarely and mythic ambrosias are too pricy for me to make some profit, or even level up effectively (without blowing tons of gold to save a few hours of grinding). Whereas perfect roe and the demand for regular ambrosias are pretty steady, and could increase come morrowind.

Although, I could be totally wrong about all of this so that's why I'm asking. I finally got my first psijic recipe so I'm debating if I should even bother waiting to upgrade it (despite knowing that I need the insanely rare cipher to do it).

No. You put 1M+ into buying the cipher and then you have to get the dust. I don't know about others, but despite mastering harvesting on 5 characters now, I have yet to acquire only 2 dust making it really not worth it. Unless you're lucky enough to keep getting dust to drop on nodes.

Not worth paying gold to do so if you want my opinion. I will learn it if I happen to pick up the cipher during normal game play and will only do so because I can. I have only picked up 3 dust since it came out and would not be using it to make gold as I have plenty.

I do have the psijic ambrosia recipe om hand in the optimistic hope that I do get one but I have no intention of buying the cipher. Not really sure why people would pay the high price of the finished product anyway as leveling is not hard even with normal psijic - but my opinion is skewed because I have been at CP cap for ever.

Yes, forget about crafting the recipe, but buying ambrosia recipes, upgrading them all, sell them for 150k back in guild traders = profit.

There's the regular aetherial ambrosia recipe that provides 100% xp that you get from writ vouchers. I don't think this is worth it either. At 250 vouchers, that's about 500,000 gold for the recipe. Then the diminished aetherial dust is 50 vouchers each. From that with a psijic you can make four...so the cost of the potions is running 25k each, not counting the investment in the recipe.

Voucher prices should eventually drop, so maybe at some point this recipe becomes worth it.

I run around this game with a back pack vacuum on hoovering up every crafting node that there is. Guess what, no Dust. I have hit 10,000,000 damage on 10 characters, many times over on most, and guess what, no Recipe Cypher. Even if I ever found the recipe, I doubt I would ever be able to make the potions in the first place.

    So, use Ambrosia.

Besides, you don't really need to boost leveling, I reached CP797 just puttering around in the game for the most part. Sure, I did some grinding here and there, but frankly, most of it was during Vet Ranks where it was really needed as Alts were leveled in vacuum, not together.

If you want to make coin in the game, you should really pick alchemy ingredients, raw mats and motifs. That will roll the gold in far faster than Exp Pots or Perfect Roe every will.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

The chances of getting the recipe are astronomically low and the dust is not much easier to get.
Its a bit like winning the 1st division in lotto, a few people do but billions of people don't.
Its a lot more efficient to save up 3 or 4 million gold and hope you run across someone selling one.

If you just want the recipe to help you level, its a colossal waste of time/gold/effort to acquire Mythical ambrosia for return in XP you will gain. As for making money from it...well you could make a little bit from some players, but the target market is very small, so you might get your gold back in several years.

Depends on whether it applies to master writs like other recipes.

I would presume it does, but the cost for the benefit is way out of proportion. Besides, provisioning master writs are not very desirable anyway.
