This is something people have been asking for for PvE bow builds to become more viable.

This would be very useful for ranged stamina PvE DPS builds if you need to weave in heavy attacks. But there are no competitive ranged stamina builds in PvE. Stamina builds need to be in melee range to be even remotely effective in PvE. It is like ZOS put the cart before the horse. We need effective ranged stamina builds first, then we can worry about weaving heavy attacks in for sustain.

ZOS hate stack and burn boss fights in PvE. And rightly so as they are generally dull and uninteresting fights. So they make lots of mechanics that discourage staying on top of boss. Which makes melee builds less effective. But all stamina builds in PvE need to be melee. Zhaj'hassa's curses and pillar phases, the Twin's color switches and prayer explosion phases. You have to spend a lot of time moving around. Melee build DPS suffer because of this while ranged builds can keep up good DPS even from a distance while following these anti-stack mechanics.

Stamina builds in PvE have problems beyond melee versus ranged. But that is still a major issue. Let's get some good, Trials-worthy ranged stamina builds going, then worry about their ability to weave and sustain.

    .

Heavy weaving as it is; does not need this as you are probably hitting an ability which will set off the heavy attack whether your release it or not.

On one hand I think 'I never could tell how long I was supposed to hold the button down for it to be considered fully charged". So ok cool. But on the other hand I think "When was the last time I needed to do this?". So what the h.

I guess this is ZOS's way of telling us "less qq and more pew pew"

They need to start by buffing damage and unerfing the bow costs first

Maybe because stacking a bow heavy from stealth along with your red mountain procs and snipe and landing 5 hits in 1 sec killing a guy outright is only fun for one of the involved parties.

For anyone who doesn't want to be ganked, there was already a very easy counter. Sacrifice an ability slot for radiant magelight or give up inner light for this morph.

Ganking is a fun and very risky kind of play style - I suspect the somewhat overly strong heavy armor and shields have contributed more to player disappointment than ganking.

EDIT: Oops nevermind, I see they nerfed Radiant Magelight as well:
    Guild
    • Mages Guild
      • Radiant Magelight (Magelight morph):
        • This morph no longer passively reduces your damage taken by sneak attacks. It continues to passively prevent the stun from sneak attacks.
        • Reduced the cost of this morph by approximately 10%.
        Developer Comments:
Due to the reduction of sneak attack damage against other player characters, it is no longer necessary for Radiant Magelight to reduce their damage further. This prevents situations where using a sneak attack would actually do less damage than a normal attack. We’ve reduced the cost on this morph to make it more attractive relative to Inner Light.

Well, if you hold heavy attack and then press snipe, both go off in rapid succession.

I am guessing the only players that like this change are the ones that run around all willy-nilly pew-pewwing with their bow all the time. (I see them at the dolmens all the time. It is the only thing they do lol)

It is certainly a nerf for those that like to plan their attacks with the bow.

The thing that really set bow apart from staves was that you could draw back the bow and decide when to loose your arrow. I rarely used this feature but I don't think it needed to be changed. Does every weapon need to function exactly the same?

What a ridiculous change to the ONE thing that at least made bow unique.

I got an idea...how about making bow a VIABLE MAIN WEAPON instead of tweaking dumb *** like this?

Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.
Werewolf is not equal to Vamps/Bats.

I would actually prefer to see all weapons get a drawn mechanic. If you're not in combat you can prep a heavy attack. While in combat it automatically fires.

    Best of both worlds.

Also, snipe works better if you hit snipe then draw the heavy attack during the snipe animation which lets both fire at the same time. With Siphoning Strikes you can actually gain stamina while shooting this way. This does nothing for good bow play as you still have to let go of the button to rotate properly...

Now I can't walk through a Dungeon with my bow drawn back ready to strike monsters hiding in the darkness . @ZOS_GinaBruno Why ? My RP immersions are getting messed up because of PVP and PVE players ! Stop the madness !

Ha as if your immersion is more important than those two aspects of the game.

Then what do you want my stamina nightblade to do? Nightblades have been nerfed into hell and back earlier, and our playstyle in pvp is pretty much forced. Most of us are gankers because an open world build is just too damn hard. Al least for me :worried:

For those of you saying "who cares about the unique functionality of bow, just make it work the same as all other heavy attacks"... so then you would be okay with - for example - lightning staff HA be a projectile so DKs can reflect it? Afterall, that would make it "consistent", right?

Give bow users the choice to use the auto-fire or not.
Really we do it without like, the musical instruments. This is the only musical: the mouth. And hopefully the brain attached to the mouth. Right? The brain, more important than the mouth, is the brain. The brain is much more important.

Is it always, though? I suspect it's not all that risky when you spot that one straggler on their horse trying to catch up to the zerg. It's sometimes obvious who the new/bad PVPer is. You probably have spotted the gankers who only go after those players.

Let's not pretend every attack from stealth is an adrenaline-fueled nail-biter :)
