ArtOfShred✭✭✭I'm at work atm so can't make a patch for it currently.
You can remove the new icons manually if you want too: Open up Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\addons\LUIExtended\Data\Effects.lua and go down just a bit until you find this section:
Remove all the lines for major/minor (de)buffs. Be sure not to delete the } closing bracket below that though.
Also just be aware ZOS is changing over to these style icons with the launch of Morrowind. This was part of my reasoning for implementing them early - more time to get used to them.Edited by ArtOfShred on May 8, 2017 4:29PM0 -

ArtOfShred✭✭✭It would require case by case replacements for a few thousand icons so unless someone wanted to put in the groundwork for that it won't be possible.1
