COD writ scam

I should know better but just got scammed for 50k on a writ sent COD. Unfortunately you can't see the writ value until you accept it. There are a lot of lowlifes in this game.

Never accept if CoD

Do the actual trading and you can see the item.

And seriously wtf is wrong with people. If these scumbags put half the effort into the game as they do scamming people, they would probably make just as much money.

Not sure about that. Scamming probably gives a good return. Think about it. They are selling stuff for way more than they are worth. They can also make money through conventional means on top of that.

Sadly, cheating tends to be profitable behavior.

I believe I saw that this was fixed in patch notes a week or two ago, not sure if live or on PTS

Yeah - this needs a fix.

You can look and inspect everything else but you can't inspect writs that are COD.

I noticed this for the first time yesterday when a guy was selling his for 1k per writ. He never messaged me and only sent COD - no communication at all in chat. Saw I couldn't inspect the voucher numbers so sent it back.

Unfortunately many games have these kinds of players.. luckily the options of being a dirt bag in this game are somewhat limited to trade scams and snatching a resource in front of somebody else.

Not much you can do about it I'm afraid.. naming and shaming is against the ToS.. so it's likely to cause you more issues than the actual scammer.

People suck, record the convo tho and send to Support might stand a chance in at least getting him blocked.

COD is the only way i would trade, too many scammers manual trading. So this sucks

Tbh I respect Scammers and what they do fits into the game just fine from my view.

If they're willing to do it then why not? There's a Thieves Guild in Tamriel and occasionally people will get tricked into a bad deal by them.

No I have never scammed someone.
