Magicka DK, worried about sustain

Started a new Magicka DK, and I am a bit worried about sustain at level 10. I use a flame staff and I assume it will be a primary attack?

Does sustain improve as you get to a higher level?

Is DK Magicka sustain a lot worse than a Magicka Sorcerer's sustain?

Thanks!

Are you referring to current patch or next patch?

Yes, sustain does help as you get better armor and level up to get better passives and eventually CP to put into magicka regen tree.
Make PC NA raiding great again!

    Down with drama!

Unfortunately for new players, your stats are only going to get worse as you level up. The game buffs your character to give you an easier time getting used to the combat mechanics, and as you progress, that buff steadily goes away with each level.

Youll need to put skill points into your light armor passive that increases recovery, as well as using jewelry that has recovery enchantments.

Both actually, worried a bit more with the upcoming Morrowind patch.

Are Sorcerers generally better at sustain, or do the CP trees and the light armor passives make it not an issue?

Magicka dk has the worst sustain in the game.
    PS4 EU DC

    Current CP : 756+

I have every character level 50, both a magicka and stamina version.

RIP my effort to get 5x v16 characters...

Magicka dk has the worst sustain in the game.

That's why they get 40% increase to fully charged heavy attack

I don't use recovery glyphs, but when moondancer procs on recovery, it does give a rough equivilent of that. mostly get potion usage timed right/ultimate to utilize battle roar. Although I haven't had a chance to test md on the pts.since I completed it after my toons were copied. So next patch may be different.

For leveling a new toon, get a set of Seducer (5 piece) plus 3 piece Julianos. The cost reduction will help a lot. Don't forget the magicka armor enchants and blue food.

It will Balance more with passives as you level up. Don't worry at level 10.

That's exactly what I have. I play a magicka DK, and have no sustain problems even with heavy armor. However, I also have 90 points invested in the champion point skill line "Magician," which reduces the magicka costs for spells. This skill is about to be DESTROYED in the next patch, so I'm a little worried for my character. Yeah, not happy about that. :/
But right now, I have no sustain problems. I use a matching set of magicka jewelry, too. My armor is about half-and-half magicka enchantments and health enchantments. My girl is a Breton, which gets further bonuses to magicka.

Well I leveled my first character -- an orc mag DK (sort of) -- with no CP, random gear and enchants I picked up and didn't even know about food. The game was a lot harder that way, but I muddled through. New players won't even notice the Magician change. On the other hand they get a whip cost reduction and an actual burst heal.

It's not until we get to vet trials and up, and pvp where the CP changes are going to hurt.

Roll a Sorc, read the skills and passives they get and compare them to a Mag DK. It's practically a day and night difference between the 2. Sorcs have everything to help with Magicka sustain, damage and pool size. DK does not! Period!

Meh. My first char was a sorceror. The DK's abilities/spells are more fun, in my opinion. Other people might disagree, though.

I have tested in PTS, MagDK's sustain for PvP isn't much worse (heavy armour S&B MagDK), can't really comment on sustain in PvE.
