Necropotence farming, and suggestions.

Hey, so, the Necropotence farm is pretty awful. I've been farming it, regularly, for the past week or two, and the only Divines piece I've gotten is a hat. 4 of them. 4 Divines hats, and everything else either prosperous, infused, or training. On the flip side, I've gotten countless good pieces of Darkstride, and Vampire Lord or whatevever, but it's a crap set. So, a suggestion...

Why not introduce some kind of currency for farming in the overworld zones? Like tokens for killing world bosses, looting chests, completing delves (not just the first time, give us a reason to come back to these little gems), doing quests, whatever.

I'd recommend the tokens NOT be zone specific, as that would add too many different types of currency, and be annoying. Something similar to Tel Var stones, but for the PvE/Overworld areas. Put a vendor in each major city in that zone, and make the equipment BoP. It sucks competing with people looking to cash in on the latest meta, when you just wanna gear out your sorc. This would be a good, and potentially better alternative to getting the gear you want, without paying extreme prices for those that are happy to put in the time. It would also encourage people to do things other than World Boss rotations, or dolmen grinding, etc.

It can even be a sucky RNG loot bag, but at least let us choose what SET the loot bag is.

TLDR; Overworld Tokens for zone specific set gear to make the gear grind more bearable.

I farmed my gear in Rivenspire. It took about 40 hours and I am still short one staff. I bought the gold rings and neck in pvp.

Yes, I have attempted to help a friend farm this set before and it's difficult to say the least.

Seeing as it's an overland set, I do recommend just farming the gold for it as that's a lot easier and faster than trying to grind it yourself.

Although, I will admit (and I still believe it's pure rng) I got divines necro boots from a treasure map. Maybe try looking that route.

I had no clue this even existed lol. So you can use your AP and go to PVE zones and get that zones gear or what?

It's painful and there is no way around it unless you are gold rich. I tried everything from delve farming to WB to Chest farming, combined all together for 3-4 days, 5-6 hours you'll get all. I even got a sharp Ice staff, not that anyone wants it...

That's all you guys fault !!!
If everybody says Necropotence is shxtty gear, and Darkstride, Vampire Lord are BIS, and prosperous, training are best traits, then in next patch, you will find divines Necropotence becomes easy to get. :D

BTW, infused is good for Necropotence.

yeah, i've got a couple infused pieces I'm hanging onto.

I've got tons of cash, well, maybe not as much as some folks, but over 2 mil now. I just don't like buying things I *should* be able to farm easily. Spinners, no prob, at least it drops regularly. Spriggan's too. But for some reason my RNG luck has been crap for Necropotence, so I thought I'd toss out a suggestion to make farming in general not so sucky.

Thanks for all the feedback! Nice to see the forums aren't full of vitriol and ppl telling me to "get gud". :)

I got a Divines robe recently, and my Sorc only uses pets on one bar. I'm torn as to whether I should go ahead and try to put together a Necropotence set or sell it. I'm pretty sure I'll have regrets whichever I choose.

Bliz tried that with WOW and the game died!.

Gear is EASY to get in this game. If you cannot farm a certain item I am sure you have enough of something else you can trade/sell to obtain it.

yhea Necropotence prices are ridiculous BUT ive spend 2hr running around through all traders , most of the divines pieces were 100k in main hubs cheapest divines was like 50k for hands BUT i picked up most of the items i need in divines for 3k each some green even for 400g lol and then i just upgraded it, and as i don't like to spend money i picked up precise lighting staff for 10k yes sharp would be better but im happy with that , still missing one more piece :).

My suggestion try smaller traders those who are away from the main hubs you would be surprised what you can find :P

I do understand your concept. I personally bought it myself but there's certain things that need a grind to oblivion (VMA and sharpened BoP sets)

I feel the grind for them is so long I just buy all BoE sets that I need to save time.

You should have bought it before it was cool, the pieces was like 2-5k per divines ;) If I were you I would just farm other stuff that makes money and still buy the pieces for high prices, that will probably be the fastest way for you anyways.

I joined a Necropotence farming group with 20 players. We were doing the world bosses in a circle for more than 2 hours. I got 2 divine necro hats and one reinforced breeches. As I was seeing all group drops ... there were exactly 4 divine necro drops over 20 players for more than 2 hours, and Necro did drop much less overall than the other 2 sets. It's ridiculous.

    "Necropotence farming"

Necropotence is a pretty popular set. If you don't have luck finding this set in a desire trait (if RNG hates you) you can farm "gold" instead (stealing & fencing stuff is a good way to get like 10 - 15K daily per character. About 100K gold per week per character) and then check guild traders....

Call BS all you like, this topic caught my interest as for the last four days I also am farming for Necro bits and bobs, I have everything except a sharp inferno staff. My farming spot is Obsidian Scar (OS) public dungeon. On Monday just passed i had less than 200k gold in the bank, i have sold just one item in the guild store (which went for 40k) today i have exactly 700k gold banked which means other than making 12k gold per day from my writs (3 characters) that by far the most gold has come from farming runs. I run 2 farmng runs per day through OS and each of these runs is approx 2 hours duration, 4 hours x 4 days gives me approx completed 16 hours farming time for the ~400k extra that has been banked, that equates to 25k per hour gold from pick ups and selling to the merchant.. Its certainly "do-able" in 14 days if the poster puts in the time..

I spend over 2 million and got a sharpened resto and defending destro... Its still rng..

To the OP though - just know when to stop - its a game where you should be having fun. If you have a couple of pieces which don't have BiS traits, but the grind is killing you - just say 'It'll do' - and go do what you have fun with instead. Those last few won't make much difference in performance.

    splitting it down:-

    500k - 40k from GS = 460k
    14 days writs x 12k day = 168k
    460k - 168k = 292k
    292k /14 days = 20.8k a day.

    which is perfectly doable.

as you stated your grind time was a 4 grind.....hes stating 3mil in 2weeks.. which is 6x more, so unless hes a machine farming 24hrs a day... thats what i called bs on..

Honestly OP if you farm the world bosses this weekend I can guarantee you, you will have x5 pieces of gear or have double chest pieces which will allow you to sell them and buy the rest.

I just farmed it (kinda for the staff just to see if I can get it) and I have like x4 chest pieces 1 infused x3 divines, many other pieces as well...

It's quite easy to farm tbh when you farm for the staff (which is the real hard thing)

Its certainly "do-able" in 14 days if the poster puts in the time..

    splitting it down:-
    so700k - 200k = 500k
    500k - 40k from GS = 460k
    14 days writs x 12k day = 168k
    460k - 168k = 292k
    292k /14 days = 20.8k a day.

    which is perfectly doable.

as you stated your grind time was a 4 grind.....hes stating 3mil in 2weeks.. which is 6x more, so unless hes a machine farming 24hrs a day... thats what i called bs on..

3 million in 2 weeks is VERY doable... but personally I'd do it by a combination of trading & crafting writs... Farming takes way too long to make gold in comparison.

With a combination of crafting writs on 5 charachters, and a LITTLE trading/flipping I still make 750k - 1 million per week. I don't even do that much trading at the minute... with a small amount of effort 3 million in 2 weeks is not hard tbh.
