What is the point of yet another Clueless thread on this subject? If you don't like housing, no one is holding a gun to your damn head forcing you to use it. On the other hand, some of us love it and feel so much more connected to the game now that it's here. Different strokes, buddy.
"Nothing by which all human passion and hope and folly can be mirrored and then proved ever was just a game."
-- William Faulkner.
It's for the cool kids to be able to show off their hey, look at me and all my cool stuff for their other cool kids' club members. I love these cool kids, though. Been making booko of gold from selling housing stuff, mats and accessories. Ha ha
Did I miss something? What's the appeal of having a house in ESO? Does this affect your stats, or is this just a role playing thing?
Housing has no impact on anything, it's simply a Store-driver.
It's depressing, from release people were asking for housing as a good many players of TES3/4/5 enjoyed that aspect of the game but sadly what ZOS delivered in ESO is a pale imitation of those previous systems, one in which not even the storage furniture does anything.
I was hoping the the crafting stations would make a house useful but the vast effort required fighting the RNG for Writs to be able to afford even a single one .. I'm referring to the ones that can be set to a specific set, the basic ones aren't worth the effort at all .. simply makes it a huge turn-off for me.
I mainly just use my house for the free port into Wayrest to do my writs and get Undaunted quests.. Got boring pretty quickly... but still making good $ off the housing recipes...
I'd like to see them add animations to the furniture at least, since they have these animations everywhere else already.
Things like:
1. Chests that open/close, regardless of theyre empty or not
2. Baskets that have lids which slide off and on
3. Coffins that have lids which can slide open or closed
4. Books that open/close, like the Dark Brotherhood Ledger (I was so disappointed when I purchased that book, and the litany, only to see theyre just glued shut
5. Nightstands, desks, and wardrobes that animate open and closed, just like their actual counterparts
It doesnt even matter that theres no storage option for them (yet), I'd like my furniture to actually behave like furniture, instead of a Hollywood prop.
While yer at it, why are there no doors you can place? Or Walls? Or floors and ceilings?
Why are the decoration options so limited, etc...etc...
I don't know yet really. I bought the island because I thaught it would be some exclusive limited time cool thing.
I placed my busts and pictures and bought a practice skeleton. Plan on getting some crafting stations I guess. It's kind of cool but really has not much purpose in the game. Another time sink.
