What's the real question here? Sharpened is sharpened, crafted or not. If you want to benefit from a set item, a crafted one might be better. If no set item (or if you don't carry other set pieces) the master's staff will obviously be better since you get more magicka.

Crafted one will give you 174 spell damage through the glyph, increased by major and minor sorcery buffs and class passives, so around 230 spell damage, let's say.

Master staff gives ~1000 magicka, which is equal to 100 spell damage and also affected by Buffs like inner light, bound armor and passives like nbs siphoning for 8% more magicka, affects your weaving less and overall gives less damage than a damage glyph. The enchant effect is neglectible, it only affects the skills initial hit.

The reason why you should use a master staff either way are poisons. In the next update sustain is going to be a lot more valuable, and using a poison is overwriting the enchant concerning the destructive touch skill, But NOT the maximum magicka bit. So you can keep the magicka and apply a drain magicka poison on it with +spell crit,+minor sorcery and restoring magicka.

    Sharpened Inferno Master's Staff
You could always apply a glyph to the masters staff and get the best of both worlds. It is my understanding you get to keep that magica bonus. You are running the big risk that they someday realize that the masters ability boosting enchant is worthless but it has actually always been worthless and in 2 years they haven't addressed it so I don't think it is much of a worry at this point. There is no question that the glyph would be stronger. I think it would actually probably be stronger even for the ability that is buffed as I remember calculating out that masters enchant at something like 40 dps of value. It was comical.
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

Crafted for now. Need the set bonus for a particular PVP setup.

You keep the magicka from a master staff and spell damage from a maelstrom staff if you apply poisons, but not if you apply an enchantment.

Nice reply. But I really don't see poisons as having much use next patch. The amount of resources they give back is tiny.

The reason why they will have use is that they amount to ~150 mag recovery and you keep the 1000 magicka or 189 spell damage from maelstrom staffs while using them. I believe 5 Moondancer, 3 willpower, 2 light monster set and double vMA staffs will be awesome next patch. Good sustain and still very good damage.
