Crafting Would Be More Fun with an 'Appearance Tab'

After grinding and grinding away in the crafting professions, there's been little reward.
I would be able to enjoy it more if we all had a secondary 'equip' option for equipping armour, clothing, and weapons for appearance only, so we had a more practical freedom to be creative with outfits.
Especially since craftable gear can hardly compete with dungeon sets, so there isn't all that much demand; appearance becomes a significant impetus for committing to crafting trades.

Another nice feature would be to integrate the Crown Store motif 'preview' function into the rest of the game so that players can 'try on' any possible crafted gear before having to spend all the materials. Needing to sacrifice so many materials in order to craft a bunch of pieces just to try them on is overly taxing for crafters who have already put in countless hours to master the trades.

We have begged ZOS for crafted armor previews since the game was released and haven't been able to convince them so far to put it in the game. We keep trying, but it seems like they always have something that takes a higher priority.

I'm also suggesting we be able to wear whatever gear sets for combat, and wear other crafted or looted gear (or plain clothes) over the functional gear, for outward appearance only.

Craftable costumes was what I've always wanted. You get a set of armor or clothing that you like and take it to a crafting station of some kind to combine them into a wearable costume

Would definitely breathe a little useful life into crafting.

I didn't get why a complete motif of crafted or dropped gear doesn't get you a costume of that look. What's the point of giving armors distinguishing looks if you never see it except that one time when you had all the pieces. You want to wear ancient elf, make a whole suit of it and wear the costume forever. Want werewolf hide? Find all the pieces and wear the costume. That one was especially tough because I completed a set and its long gone. Wasn't anything special anyways but at the time I thought, what?! Why bother then!!

It would be very easy to implement.

-They've already got the gear equip interface, so it'd just be a matter of adding a tab to switch between equipping functional or appearance items, along with a check to make sure the weapon slots are the same type of items (example: not trying to place a bow appearance item over an active staff, or a shield over an offhand dagger, etc.).
As is, polymorph is top layer (priority for appearance), with hide helmet under that, disguise under that, then hat, then costume, and finally active functional gear items.
Equipped custom appearance items would be just above functional gear, and below everything else.

-They've already got a working gear previewer for Crown Store motifs/costumes.

They would mostly just need to make already existing features more accessible.

Have they ever gave a response why they refuse to add it. I am willing to be there have been 1000s of request for it. We see it on here weekly asking for it. So they know the playerbase wants it but refuses add it. I think they may not be adding it because they dont want to lose sales on costumes with the crown store.

There is a win-win option. They focus on non-craftable/non-lootable attire for Crown Store costumes.
If the costumes look great and are unique, sales will remain strong.

They could also add a little incentive for ESO plus by allowing 3 more appearance tabs (saved appearance outfits) for subscribers in addition to the default 1 tab for non-subs.

Glad I'm not alone in seeing the obvious enrichment of player experience with this simple tweak.

I would however prefer small tabs above the equip UI to cycle through outfits, in order to avoid cluttering the inventory screen.
And I would include weapon appearance slots as well.
